Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 129
Chapter 129: She Must Stay Alive
Lisa’s POV:
I didn’t have much time left. This was what the doctors told me.
Although I looked very healthy now, my organs were rapidly failing. I might die in a few years.
It was a curse from Eloise’s parents. I knew they died because of my parents, but it was normal for them to die in the battle for the position of pack leader. They cursed my parents and me at the last moment of their lives.
I told you that they knew some magic, which was an amazing talent for werewolves. However, I was glad that I didn’t see this in Eloise. Otherwise, it would have been even more troublesome for me to deal with her.
My parents could hardly transform into wolves. As I didn’t have any wolves at the time, the effect I received was directly affecting my body.
From that day on, my health deteriorated. My parents didn’t care about me, but they never stopped me from using any tactic to save myself.
Of course, I had a way to survive, but I needed fresh werewolf blood with a suitable blood type. It would be best if there were bone marrow. However, this couldn’t solve the root of the problem at all, and I slowly lost my patience in this process.
How could they do this? I didn’t understand because I didn’t do anything wrong.
However, since this had already happened, I still hoped they would pay the price. For example, I would take away everything Eloise had.
Her fated mate, the pack she inherited, all of these should be mine. There was no suspense. This was a fight for the leader’s position between her and me. I was sure I would defeat her.
“Thus, I made Atticus believe that I was the one who saved him. Even though I didn’t like him, I still hoped to be his wife and inherit everything in his pack.
However, when I found my love, I suddenly realized that I couldn’t make such a decision so easily. I couldn’t bear to see his future be ruined in my hands.
However, at least he still supported what I was doing. He was willing to do many things for me, but I didn’t want him to do that. The love between us should never be bothered by these trivial things. So I chose another way. I just needed to make Atticus feel guilty. He wouldn’t reject me in the end if I wanted something.
Speaking of which, I still had to keep an eye on Eloise.
I returned to Eloise’s room and saw her lying on the bed. She had already fallen asleep. She was still so weak that she didn’t even notice my presence. This didn’t make sense because before this, even though her blood was almost completely drained, she would still notice anyone who entered her room.
This situation made me panic because if she died, I wouldn’t be able to get anything. Although I had other ways to survive, for the time being, I couldn’t find anyone who was a match for me like her.
She had already gone crazy during the day, so the curtains had all been replaced. I wouldn’t let her touch anything again, at least, I wouldn’t let her cut her wrist.
She looked very haggard as if she did not have much time left. That was what happened to werewolves abandoned by their partners, but I didn’t want her to take any depressants now.
That would prevent me from extracting the bone marrow.
“Keep an eye on her. It’s only been a few days.” After I left the room, I complained to the servants around me. They finally showed a little respect and looked at me in horror as they apologized.
I didn’t want to argue with them about this, but they must also be punished. I waved at my bodyguard and turned around. I put on my headphones just as I heard the scream.
I really didn’t want to care about this anymore.
“If Atticus finds this place, what will you do?” The person standing behind me patted my shoulder and whispered.
“He won’t find this place, I’m sure.” I took off my headphones, took a deep breath, and started coughing.
I was sure that Atticus still had some trust in me.
Moreover, he would not dare to do anything to the Cotton family’s territory..
