Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 123
Chapter 123: I Won’t Agree With His Viewpoint
Eloise’s POV:
I looked at Atticus calmly and completely ignored his emotions. After all, this was our family’s ward. I believed he wouldn’t dare to do anything.
Jude, behind him, would not allow him to do so.
“What makes you think I’ll do what you think I would do?” He finally laughed out loud.
“I have my judgment on this. If you want to stand on equal footing with me and discuss it, I don’t mind.”
When he said that, Chloe’s expression became even gloomier.
“That’s good.” I held onto his hand and tried my best to smile at him.
But in fact, my hands were shaking. I couldn’t help but be afraid of him.
It was all because I said those hurtful words to him. It was hard for me to talk to him like this under the influence of the mate connection. But I still put in so much effort.
I was surprised by this.
Atticus was furious, but I didn’t think it was a big deal. I was grateful that he saved me, and I’d be thankful for that, but that had nothing to do with what I was going to say now
Someone had to bring this up first, and the one who spoke first would have the upper hand. In the current situation, I hoped that it was me.
These were all the things I’d learned during this time.
Unlike what I expected, Atticus just looked at me like that. His expression was different from before. I didn’t know where the problem was, but it was completely different.
His gaze started to make me feel scared.
I persevered, raised my head, and tried to remain calm as I welcomed his gaze. He looked at me from top to bottom as if he was looking at a piece of meat.
“In your current state, do you think you can still survive after that?” he sneered.
“Even I would have to stay in the ICU after that. That’s the power of separating the mate connection. Unless you don’t want to live anymore, to say the least.” I was very clear about this, but there was no better time than now. After all, I was still in the hospital. In this way, I only needed to stay here for a few more days and not think of any strange reasons to stay there.
However, he needed Atticus’ permission.
He didn’t want to do that anymore.
When he was behaving like this, I suddenly didn’t want to think about it anymore. But I wouldn’t admit that I had the same thoughts as him.
The mate connection proved that the Moon Goddess had guided two people together. It made us like two different levels of magnets, attracting each other and falling in love with each other. But no matter what, it was not only restraint on the two of us, but it also guaranteed that it’d be difficult for us to accept a new marriage while it was around.
This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing for the current situation.
I was gradually starting to accept this idea. Everything had come to this; I had to make good use of it.
Although he didn’t look like he was in good condition, I still didn’t dare to continue fighting him head-on.
I was afraid he’d suddenly get angry. The anger of an Alpha was not something I could bear. So, I pressed the call bell on the bed.
Soon, the caretakers came in and understood why I called them over. Although humans weren’t afraid of Alpha-like werewolves, Atticus’ natural temperament still made them retreat.
“Sir, we have to ask you to leave because…”
“Alright, I know.” Atticus looked at me one last time before he turned around and left. Jude looked like he wanted to say something, but he didn’t say anything in the end and just followed him out.
‘Yes, I want to be discharged this afternoon.” I sighed and turned to look at Chloe.
I couldn’t stay here any longer. I had to make myself look more powerful. I endured the dizziness and started packing my luggage with Chloe. Ten minutes later, we arrived at the hospital entrance.
But I realized something was missing from my backpack before I got in.
‘Wait a moment.” I hesitantly rummaged through my backpack.
My sketchbook. No matter where I was, I would always bring it with me. YVhen I was lying in bed drawing, I put it on the chair. I was sure I had left it behind. This shouldn’t have happened. It must be because Atticus suddenly returned to my ward, and I was distracted.
I had no choice but to tell Chloe the truth.
“I’ll help you get it,” she quickly offered and walked into the hospital.
I watched her leave. At that moment, a car blocked my view.
It made me unable to see Chloe again, and I couldn’t help but worry about her safety. I waved my hand to remind him. At the same time, the car window rolled down, and a beautiful face appeared.
The moment I saw that person, my eyes widened..
