Eloise’s POV:
“He didn’t reply to my message,” I said to the person on the other end of the phone.
“Then, we’ll continue waiting,” my lawyer friend, Chloe, answered me.
Before this, I could only communicate with her through email because I didn’t want her to find out that I was in a fragile physical state. Perhaps it was because of the wolf, but my body had quickly recovered to the point where I could use video communication smoothly.
Then, she sighed again.
“I’m glad you finally want to escape this kind of life. I’ve been very worried before this. ”
Of course, I knew that. She had mentioned this more than once. But I wanted to give it a chance.
I wanted to look for Atticus to discuss the divorce. Even though I hadn’t received all the money yet, the divorce could already be put on the agenda.
“I’m very sorry,” I said sincerely.
I didn’t want her to worry about me.
She only shook her head and did not continue the topic.
“However… I also saw it that day. Soren was there.” Chloe’s voice was trembling. She looked at my expression seriously. “I can see that your expression is very forced.”
“Yes, it is.” I sighed.
I thought that I would never see him again in my life.
I didn’t know why he appeared at the exhibition that day, but I had to greet him on that occasion.
I’d heard some news about him. He was a few years older than me, and after he had graduated from the university, he successfully got into a well-known company. This was also the reason why he left the pack.
But now, I didn’t think it was a good thing for me to meet him.
“But no matter what, this isn’t something I should be thinking about now.” I held my forehead in pain.
As long as Atticus and Lisa didn’t affect me negatively, I’d definitely succeed. However, I felt a little hopeless when I thought of them.
There was no need to explain Atticus’ attitude toward me, but Lisa’s attitude was a little strange. I thought she would date Atticus, but she did not.
I felt it when I saw her hugging that person at the exhibition. They were more like lovers than so-called family.
But how did she find a boyfriend right under Atticus’ nose?
I might never get the answer to these questions in my life, and of course, I was not interested either.
However, I was still unsure if he’d let me go and pursue my life as we agreed on.
“If he refuses to communicate, this will be difficult to deal with.” There was a grave expression on Chloe’s face.
Of course, I knew what that meant.
My finances couldn’t allow me to spend too much time with someone like Atticus, so I had to settle this as soon as possible.
But how could it be that easy? As long as Atticus wanted to, no one in this country could go against his will. And he had indeed given this right to Lisa.
This wasn’t very complicated at first, but the problem was that there were too many clauses in my marriage agreement. Almost every clause was against me.
That was why we needed to try our best to get my right back.
Those documents gave me a headache. Then, just as I was about to faint, my phone rang.
I picked up my phone. To my surprise, the video call was from Atticus.
“If you want to explain what you just sent me, I can give you a chance now.” Atticus didn’t sound happy.
“If you want to make other requests, you’re overthinking. I won’t give you any chances. You’ve already wasted my patience.”
What was he thinking? I just felt that it was inexplicable. I never thought of winning him back.
Just like how he never loved me.
“That’s not it. In fact, I’m here to file for a divorce.” I took a deep breath.
Before this, I’d already discussed many details with Chloe, but the truth was, I couldn’t tell Atticus about those details..
