Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 119
Chapter 119: I Shouldn’t Have Looked At Him
Eloise’s POV:
I looked at the gowns. I knew I should look better in it no matter what, but my size was different from before. After my wolf awakened, my body was a little bigger than before, which allowed me to wear more different clothes.
“That set looks pretty good.” Chloe pointed at one of the sets.
The model walked toward us. I looked at her outfit and felt that what she said was true. This set of clothes was even more compatible with my current state. The dress looked exquisite but wasn’t too difficult to move around. It was perfect for a werewolf.
I needed a male companion, but I didn’t know whom to choose. At the moment, the one who was most likely to agree to my request was Soren. However, given our past, I didn’t want to ask him for everything. That would make the situation between us a little awkward.
But I still had to see him because even if I didn’t want to hang around him, I should have asked him to leave this place first.
I didn’t want him to see how embarrassed I was. It was as if I didn’t want to care what was bothering him.
Atticus also seemed to have noticed this because he was looking at me. The way he looked at me also changed. However, he quickly turned his head away. Even the people around him had left. I heaved a sigh of relief because all my problems had disappeared.
I sighed and gave up on this attempt. I was ready to leave everything to fate.
I was sure someone would invite me to the party. But no matter who it was, I would disagree. That was not what I should be doing now.
On the day of the party, I only stood at the back the entire time because I was not very important. Standing with me were a few other young men who also belonged to this family. I could already remember their names now.
Although everyone knew they couldn’t stand in the spotlight like their big brother, their relationship was still not as good as it seemed. After all, what we had was like a cake. If there were one more person to share the cake with, the portion we get would decrease.
I stood in a secluded place, looking at Atticus and the people standing beside him.
I suddenly felt that this didn’t seem to be so good anymore.
I turned my head and wanted to leave. I almost couldn’t breathe. I still couldn’t get used to all this. I needed some peace and quiet. At least, I didn’t want to be in such a bad mood.
I looked at the sky. The sky was slowly turning dark. Soon, the fireworks would rise and light up the night sky again. A new year would soon arrive. I took a deep breath and looked at the night sky.
I believed that it would be a new beginning.
However, I suddenly felt pressure from somewhere I couldn’t identify.
I didn’t know who it was, but I suddenly felt a push on my back. I lost my balance and fell toward the outside of the fence. For some reason, the railing had collapsed as if it had been planned.
That must be someone who understood my habits because I was often here to get some wind
Falling headfirst off the rooftop wasn’t easy, even for a werewolf like me.
At this moment, I felt that I was done for. There were still many things I hadn’t done, and I couldn’t die so quickly. However, I could no longer control my balance.
I didn’t even see who that person was. It was a huge black shadow. Or rather, it was because he was being enveloped by something.
But suddenly, someone reached out from the side of the roof and grabbed my arm. However, I still couldn’t avoid the fact that I had hit the wall.
In the intense pain, my vision turned black, and I lost consciousness..
