Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 115
Chapter 115: I Have To Grow
Eloise’s POV:
Atticus’ expression didn’t reflect what he was saying, so I couldn’t trust him completely. He must have other thoughts, but I have no way of knowing them yet.
But what could they do? Those things had nothing to do with me. I shouldn’t continue to pay attention to this.
But at least what happened just now made me think he was better than I thought. At least he didn’t make things difficult for me here.
But I still didn’t know what to say to him, especially after what we had just had.
“I’ll go back first.” He looked at Soren and me and gritted his teeth.
Soren’s guards stood out from behind him and led the way for Atticus. When he disappeared around the corner, I heaved a sigh of relief. Although Soren’s expression was not obvious, it was probably similar.
After all, Atticus was our friend, and we know that he wouldn’t do anything to us.
However, under such circumstances, we would feel a little more relaxed.
“When Older Brother was here, I felt very nervous… But I’m much better now,” I told him the truth.
“But speaking of this, Older Brother seems to be doing some things secretly recently. I’ve only seen it before, but I can’t be completely sure,” Soren muttered.
His words piqued my interest. I turned around and looked at him, waiting for him to continue. But he just walked away as if he had no intention of continuing.
“So, what you wanted to say just now was…”
“Do you still remember that person? That young man who gave me no impression at all… He’s the one who sponsored him.” He looked at me, his expression even more serious.
This made me feel a little confused. I didn’t understand why he would do this because it seemed unreasonable. Everyone thought he was the most indifferent person in the family, which was why he could be in his current position.
However, it seemed like he still held a certain kind of friendship in mind.
But this had nothing to do with me.
“Ah, no matter who it is, being on his side is a step closer to victory.” Soren seemed to be deep in thought as he spoke seriously. But almost in an instant, his expression became serious.
“Eloise, you should pay attention to all the abnormalities. This might be your chance to live.”
I understood everything he said. He was teaching me how to survive here. This was indeed something I should learn.
“But from now on, I will help you avoid Atticus,” Soren said sincerely.
I expressed my gratitude to him, but at the same time, I made it clear that I didn’t need such help. After all, no matter what, he was still a guest here. It was inevitable that we would come into contact with each other. I couldn’t make any mistakes in this.
First of all, I couldn’t avoid him on purpose.
“There is no need for that. He’s just there, and he won’t be affected. I’m trying to prove this to Older Brother, aren’t I?” I told him seriously. He didn’t answer me and iust entered his office. I followed him in.
I was sure he had something to say to me.
His office was the same as before. There was no change. I sat on the chair, not feeling embarrassed at all. I just looked at him curiously.
“Something happened recently, but it’s not a big deal.” Soren sat in front of the computer desk and turned the computer screen to me.
“I know you don’t have your information channel… So for now, I’ll tell you.”
“Thank you very much, I really…” I didn’t know how to express my gratitude, but he waved his hand dismissively.
“If you can improve the current situation, I will be very grateful to you.”
I thought I roughly understood what he meant, but that was not something I could solve right now. I leaned forward and read the email seriously.
It was about things that had nothing to do with my department. This included the dispute with the nearby vampire family.
But no matter what, I believed the family’s legal team would handle it well. I’d never been worried about this.
I’d just try my best to remember these.
I had to grow as fast as possible..
