Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 113
Chapter 113: The Reunion
Eloise’s POV:
“That person has appeared.” My wolf coughed in my mind.
I continued to look at the door before me. It was about to open, and that person was about to appear. I’d never met him before. This was our first meeting, and I didn’t want it to look too bad.
“I’m not talking about this. I’m talking about that. That thing you don’t want to see.”
I ignored it and continued to pay attention to the situation in front of me.
I knew that Atticus was standing in front of me, but I was not in the mood to look at him. I was even more willing to pretend I didn’t know him. He had also noticed this, which was why he had stopped there.
Compared to him, I should be more concerned about my big brother, Ives. He looked very gentle, but I knew he was a hungry wolf. I couldn’t defeat him, and I didn’t have such thoughts. I could only accept his scrutiny. I felt like I was a crystal ball; he had seen through all my experiences.
I couldn’t see what was in his black eyes. I only know that he grew up in a hazardous environment. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be a person like this.
But when he looked at me, I felt like prey. They were also stared at like this before they died. I knew it when I hunted when I was young.
Atticus didn’t leave. He stood by my side as if he was protecting me. He looked at Ives as if he was protecting his mate.
I didn’t need him to be like this. But at this moment, I couldn’t ask him to leave because I couldn’t admit I needed him now.
“He’s helping you share the pressure. ” I heard the wolf mutter in my head.
I knew that, but I didn’t want to admit it. However, this wasn’t a big deal. After all, he was still my partner. ‘This is his responsibility,’ I tried to tell myself.
However, it didn’t seem to be of any use.
This relative in name only looked at him and then at me. Immediately after, the usual smile of an Alpha appeared on his face. Compared to Atticus, he might be more like an Alpha.
“This is a guest of our family, Eloise. We should treat him well.” I couldn’t tell what he was feeling from his expression, but I was sure that he didn’t look pleased. Then, he turned around and walked in the opposite direction of the corridor.
However, what he did just now was already very obvious. He was the one who was asking me to get in touch with Atticus.
Perhaps Atticus rejected him before; I could only guess. Otherwise, he would have no reason to do so.
But no matter what, I couldn’t disobey him because that would affect Atticus or me badly. Then, Atticus looked at me.
I took a deep breath and walked forward.
“Hello, Atticus. I hope you can help us.” I looked at him.
“You hope…?” He didn’t understand what I said just now. This was normal. After all, that was what our relationship was like.
“I hope you can help us.”
“I hope you can help us.”
He stood in the same place and did not say anything.
“This is a request from our family. We hope that you can cooperate with us in what we are doing now,” I repeated what I had just said and maintained my smile. I looked at him. I didn’t want to get close to him, never again. However, after turning the corner, I knew that person would still be standing there.
I guessed he must want to know how much the mate connection still affected me. That was why I couldn’t retreat.
It was evident that Atticus had the same opinion as me. He stood there and did not move as he looked at me curiously.
But the atmosphere between us had changed.
However, when he placed his hand on my shoulder, that feeling of the familiar touch still lingered on me. It was like he was releasing electricity , and we were attracted to each other, but this shouldn’t be happening here.
After all, this was over. I believed we had to break our mate connection. I thought so before I got closer to him..
