Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 112
Chapter 112: You Can’t Ignore Her
Atticus’ POV:
A lot of things happened in the still-famous Cotton family. Although I didn’t know everything, I’d heard a rough idea.
Eloise was like a small boat in a hurricane, caught in a vast whirlpool. She couldn’t escape, so she could only live the fate she had already obtained.
I knew this was Eloise’s inevitable fate, but I worried more about their family’s current situation.
Although it seemed very harmonious, I could see how much fire was hidden in it. None of her brothers and sisters were kind characters.
Whenever they mentioned Eloise, their eyes would be filled with a wolf-like expression. I knew they would eventually see Eloise as fat meat they could cut at will and get whatever they wanted from her.
I’d seen this expression too many times. It was the same in my pack.
“Why are you so concerned about this?” My wolf was laughing.
“You still can’t ignore her.”
Only then did I realize the problem. This had nothing to do with me. I was here to eliminate the vampires with the family.
But now, it seemed that various signs indicated they might not be vampires. [ was here to help in the name of peace, so I couldn’t say more.
However, I could be sure that if those vampires stayed here, they would pose a significant threat to the humans and werewolves who originally lived here.
This was where the problem lay. This wasn’t their territory, so they shouldn’t have done this.
I could almost confirm that someone was deliberately leading this matter, which could threaten my pack.
When something was related to vampires, I couldn’t
Eloise’s back profile appeared in my mind again. It was even clearer than before. When I thought of her, I could even smell the unique scent on her body. I even remembered the feeling when I came into contact with her.
This was not normal.
I closed my eyes and tried to banish this image from my mind. However, it was becoming clearer and clearer. I was very sure that this was the effect of the mate connection.
This was truly terrible.
But no matter what, I had to investigate this. Now that Lisa was in my pack, I felt I shouldn’t continue being there. Because if this continued, my parents would want me to marry her. This was almost impossible to change.
Therefore, it was more like I needed to continue hiding here than to prove something to them. I didn’t want to return to the pack until I found a solution.
‘You’re simply running away unless you can think of a better reason while you’re here.”
My wolf spoke in a bizarre tone in my mind. I admitted that he was right. I had to think of a suitable solution this time, or perhaps I could change my attitude.
However, they couldn’t do anything to me if I insisted. However, the process would be excruciating. I could already imagine what the ending would be like.
I had to help Soren settle this. Otherwise, I would encounter more problems in the future. So I had to leave now.
I went out. To my surprise, Eloise was standing there on the way to the meeting room. This was the best opportunity for me to find her and understand this better, but I was unsure if she wanted to talk to me about this.
To my surprise, she didn’t seem to see me at all. She turned her head and stared in another direction. She even looked a little nervous.
I followed her gaze. Nothing was there but a door.
Whom was she waiting for?
But no matter who it was, I instinctively felt danger. That person was no good.
Before I could ask her, a person walked out from there..
