Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 109
Chapter 109: She’s Not Related to Me In Any Way
Atticus’ POV:
The girl on the TV was wearing a suit and standing on the podium, speaking to the crowd charismatically.
Her logic was very clear, and there was no fault to be found. After she finished speaking, almost everyone in the room went silent. She almost completely convinced them.
Was this the Eloise I know? I began to have doubts. I thought this was the most difficult thing for her to deal with. For some unknown reason, her parents had never taught her these things.
“Her parents left a long time ago. Don’t you remember?” my wolf sneered.
“She’s different from you.”
“But she’s not… Alright.” I suddenly recalled that her adoptive parents didn’t like her that much. It was just that I rarely realized this in the past.
But before I could finish my thoughts, the TV was switched off. Jude looked at me with a concerned expression, then handed me a stack of documents.
“Alpha, if you’ve recovered, I suggest you look at this.”
Yes, I had returned to my pack. With all the workl had to do before, I didn’t have a chance to rest.
“Oh, yes, got it. I’ll start working now.”
I coughed awkvvardly. I didn’t want to show that I cared too much about Eloise, but the truth was that I couldn’t get myself out of this. No matter how I looked at it, I could only do this.
“Alpha, you probably…” He still seemed very worried.
“If you need to rest…”
“I’m fine,” I quickly replied.
I was a little tired, but that was nothing.
I lowered my head to look at the materials in my hands. However, my mind was still on Eloise. Even without her, the Field Pack’s matter had to be made public, or no pack could escape this threat.
Although I always felt that it was best to announce those things as soon as possible, Eloise had chosen a different path.
I didn’t understand. It was as if she still had a guilty conscience. But she didn’t understand what I meant at all. She still wanted to drag this on, and the longer this dragged on, the more danger she would be in.
Moon Goddess, I’d decided to give up on the matter related to her completely. I’d already done my best to help her to this extent.
Just as I was about to flip the material in my hand, I saw a message pop up on the computer.
Sure enough, someone came to me to try to learn about the rumors about Eloise. Of course, those things weren’t wrong, but they were still very different from the real situation. Some people even thought that she had married a vampire.
Moon Goddess, why would anyone think of me as a vampire?
After this message popped up, more information appeared. My computer kept beeping, and I couldn’t help but close my email application.
I could imagine many of them were here because she married me, but at the same time, Lisa lived in my pack. In the past, not many people knew about this, but now, it was clear that many people were curious about it.
If this matter was revealed, it was obvious that Eloise and I would be affected. I didn’t want to see that at all.
But I thought this was my privacy.
I already understood what they wanted from me, so I wouldn’t let them have their way.
Some people who were even more anxious called me directly. Listening to their voices, I felt so annoyed for the first time.
“No, she has nothing to do with me. If you want to find out more about her, please don’t dig it from me.”
I hung up. Looking at the documents before me, I thought about it and decided not to contact Eloise again. There was no need for us to contact each other anymore.
The most important thing now was to ensure that my pack wouldn’t be affected by what would happen to the Field Pack. But because of everything that had happened before, that didn’t seem too easy..
