Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 106
Chapter 106: I’ll Live
Eloise’s POV:
I knew that the best way was to spend money on those packs first, so I bought everything I could send over.
Most of the decorations at today’s banquet were arranged by my subordinates, so they naturally knew who I was.
At least they’d remember me first and be able to confirm that I wanted to be here. This way, they would still be suspicious even if something happened again.
“This is only the first step. Next, we have to make them remember you even more.” My wolf sounded gentler than before.
As long as one puts oneself out there, he wouldn’t have to worry about dying silently in this world. I was very clear about this now.
“I think you’ve already learned this?” My wolf laughed. I looked at myself in the mirror and nodded.
I had to live for the truth.
The phone rang. I picked it up. After seeing the number, I took a deep breath and answered it.
It was Lisa. Her voice was still as beautiful as before, but even though she was praising the fireworks, she was also hinting that she was getting less and less familiar with me, to the point that I had done something she could not imagine.
She was expressing her dissatisfaction with me.
“Eloise, I didn’t expect you to be so powerful now.”
Was she being sincere? I thought it was impossible, but I could only smile and reply perfunctorily.
“I can’t compare to you,” I said sincerely. After all, she was about to become the Field Pack’s Alpha.
“I envy you.”
“No, I’m just relieved to see you’re living well now,” she said quickly.
“This already makes me very happy,”
She was indeed threatening me, I was sure. If I wanted to break out of the current situation, she would be like the seaweed in the water and use her best effort to drag me back into the water.
However, I didn’t want to give her any more chances. I only wanted the truth to be known to everyone now. Then, someone would naturally join me to punish her.
I didn’t have to participate in the rest of the gathering. Instead, I stood by the balcony and admired the moon. It was not the full moon, so the moon was still like a small banana. I looked at it and felt a little hungry.
I hadn’t had time to eat because of work. So I lifted the hem of my dress and carefully walked downstairs.
A sound utterly different from the wind came from the window beside me. I turned around and looked out the window. A black shadow was waiting there, and it looked like a terrifying thing. It was so huge, like a…
A vampire with spread wings.
I ran to the balcony and looked around, but I couldn’t find it at all. I didn’t know where it had run to, but it wasn’t here anymore.
‘Who is it?” I shouted. But no one answered. The shadow landed on my balcony just as I was about to leave.
The black wings dissipated like smoke, and the man raised his head to look at me.
“Why are you here?” I cried out in surprise.
Wasn’t that Alvin? Shouldn’t he be nailed in the coffin by the vampire police and buried underground by now? When did he come out of that?
I couldn’t think. His handsome face had the cold but affectionate expression unique to vampires, and I instinctively felt danger.
When he got close to me, I quickly gave control of my body to my wolf.
But before I could turn into my wolf-form, I saw flashes of lights. It must have belonged to the camera, and the person carrying the camera ran into the forest the moment he saw me.
I suddenly realized that he didn’t want my life, but only those photos. The photos of him waiting outside my door looked like I knew him well and was very surprised.
With my current status, if there were such scandals, there would be some serious incidents, not to mention being related to a vampire who had done many wrong things.
I wanted to get those things back, but it was too late..
