Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 103
Chapter 103: You Should Listen To My Opinion
Eloise’s POV:
Even though Chloe couldn’t hear my conversation from where she was, she could see my expression. Then, after realizing I had settled down, she sat quietly and looked at me nervously.
I waved my hand, indicating for her to remain calm.
In the past, I had never really met Atticus’ mother. We only respectfully called her ‘Luna’ from the Hil Pack. And now, she was calling me so casually.
I didn’t know what she would say, but I knew it’d bring me bad news.
Based on my understanding of her, she had never been a kind person. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have forced her son like that.
But even so, she still made some small talk with me. It included the news that she had heard about the accident that happened to me two days ago.
Strictly speaking, it hasn’t been officially disclosed yet, so I think it was probably because she was trying to show that she knew everything and didn’t want me to hide anything from her. I could understand that very well. After all, almost every Alpha or Luna would do the same.
“But speaking of this, I’m just an ordinary heir. I can’t get anything. So I won’t be a threat to anyone. And I’ll also be separated from your son.” I tried my best to maintain my calmness. However, the person on the other end of the phone didn’t only want this because I heard her sigh.
“Actually, Eloise, I’m not here for this. I’m here for something else.” She laughed again.
“Do you still remember that Atticus had a sister, Page? Am I right?”
How could I possibly forget her? Page was an unforgettable character, and I knew her too well. I didn’t know why she was still talking about this girl now.
“I remember her.” I didn’t know what the person on the other side of the phone wanted.
“She’s an artist, and she’s very skilled.”
“Yes, so this is an official request. We hope that she can marry your family’s Soren.” She then coughed a few more times. “I hope that, as his sister, you can help him make this wedding happen and not anything else. No matter what you need, as long as our pack can fulfill, we will help you.”
“This is not something he or I can decide.” I tried my best to maintain my patience.
“0f course, I know that you might not help her. However, I still hope for otherwise. After all, our families will be in cooperation, right?” she contin ued.
Then, she hung up the phone.
She was threatening me with our future cooperation. It was a very awkward situation, but I couldn’t make better choices.
This also meant that they had almost given up on Atticus. In other words, Atticus was probably doing something out of their control.
But could Atticus have done it? I thought about how he looked. He seemed to have put in much effort to marry me back then.
But no matter what, these no longer have much to do with me. So I quickly blacklisted her number.
I logged into the company’s email. A few of my colleagues have sorted out the rankings for this competition and posted them in the group chat. I just happened to be able to see the results.
I saw Page’s drawing. Her drawing was exquisite, but she still couldn’t get first place.
The first place was Hanna. She had been preparing for this competition for a long time, and her artwork had received the most comments. Since I’d already promised to send the first place to the amusement park that our pack was at, I wouldn’t go back on my word.
“Her failure is on her, but she’s not that weak either,” my wolf muttered.
I looked at the number of votes she received. Although she was in third place, she was just slightly away from surpassing second place. This meant that she was not that bad; she only lacked some luck or inspiration.
If she could relax for a while, she would be able to achieve great things. But would she do that? I was very skeptical.
She was too eager to succeed..
