Ace of the Dragon Division - Chapter 261
Chapter 261: Mission Complete
The elevator door automatically closed as Xu Cheng fired the last shot. The other bodyguards reacted right after they heard the gunshots, but when those five dead guys fell to the ground and cleared out of the other bodyguards’ vision, the elevator door was already closed. Right after it closed, Xu Cheng dropped his pistol and pulled out another one as he jumped back on top of the elevator after he pressed the 1st floor.
Seven bodyguards charged over and saw that the elevator Xu Cheng took was going down. They immediately pressed the button and waited for another elevator, getting ready to chase after him.
Seeing another elevator coming up, Xu Cheng jumped onto it as the two passed each other. When it stopped on the 58th floor, the seven guards came in and pressed the 1st floor. When the elevator was going down, Xu Cheng smashed down on the cover of the elevator, which fell down and directly sent two people to heaven. He then jumped down and fired in five directions with a pistol in each hand, killing all five remaining guards. All 7 guards were dead in the elevator, and Xu Cheng bent down and picked up two pistols. Each of these held 6 bullets, 12 in total, so he had to change guns frequently.
When the elevator arrived at the first floor, the doors opened and revealed that the main lobby was already empty.
Xu Cheng pressed the elevator doors shut and went back up to the 58th floor, and again he climbed up above the elevator cover. He saw another elevator going up and stopping on the 58th floor briefly before coming back down. There were probably a few more people coming after him.
When the two elevators crossed again, Xu Cheng aimed at the cables and fired a few bullets. The precise shots directly broke the cables and sent the elevator plunging down at a high speed from almost the 30th floor. Finally, with a loud bang, the guards inside that elevator died an instant death.
When his elevator arrived at the 58th floor, the remaining 5 guards waiting outside directly began firing blindly as the elevator door opened. But of course, Xu Cheng was nowhere to be seen. He wasn’t inside, having been standing on top of the elevator the whole time. When the doors opened, he already jumped to the adjacent elevator cable and hung onto it.
When the five bodyguards cautiously walked in, they found the elevator top open and nervously aimed above them, Xu Cheng already opened the door of the adjacent elevator channel. Without even looking back, Xu Cheng walked out as he reached back and fired 5 shots at the five guys inside the elevator.
The 20-men line-of-defense was sorted.
Further down in the office, the 8 guys had already heard multiple gunshots. Curious, they spoke into their mic, “What’s the situation right now?”
Xu Cheng picked up a mic from a body on the floor and replied in fluent English, “Target neutralized.”
Then, he picked up two more pistols, one in each hand, and headed straight into the office door. When the people opened the door to come out and check, the two that opened the door immediately received a bullet through their brains with two loud bangs.
Then, Xu Cheng did a forward roll into the office. The 6 remaining guards were instinctively shooting at the chest-to-head height and naturally missed Xu Cheng. Before they could lower their hands and aim down, Xu Cheng raised his arm and pumped five bullets into them. The one left actually got the chance to fire a shot at Xu Cheng before he could aim at him from the side. When the bullet approached him, he dropped a pistol and caught the bullet between his fingers.
The only remaining guard stared in shock and his eyes almost fell out. Xu Cheng took aim and pumped a bullet into his brain before he could react.
After that, he threw away his pistol and shouted towards the veteran of the 5th Division Special Forces that was left guarding the vault behind the heavy metal door. “You don’t plan on coming out to fight me? I know I can’t open your door for sure and you will be perfectly safe hiding inside. But if I just walked away like this, although the artifacts would be safe, the corporation lost this many bodyguards and you also let me escape. I’m afraid you won’t be able to give a good explanation to your superior, right?”
When Xu Cheng was done speaking, the electronic security door to the corridor leading to the vault opened.
A big, bald man with tattoos slowly walked out.
“I was just wondering, who would actually have the guts to think about stealing these artifacts. Tell me, who employed you? To be ballsy enough to come in by yourself, I must admit that you are very bold. The whole building is equipped with closed-circuit surveillance. You may have destroyed the bottom floors, but I can see exactly what you were doing in the upper half of this building. To be honest, after seeing your moves, I just want to say that you are not a very competent thief. You are pretty lousy in all aspects.”
Xu Cheng laughed. “Who said I’m here to steal?”
“Oh?” The big man blinked. “You’ve wrapped yourself so tightly and didn’t expose an inch of your real face. You also have gloves, not planning to leave behind any fingerprints. What are you doing here then if you aren’t here to steal the relics?”
Xu Cheng: “I came here to rob, directly rob, kill the guards first and take the relics. Do you understand now?”
The big man: “Do you know who I am?”
Xu Cheng: “Charles, used to be the Fifth Division’s Lieutenant Colonel, and now you serve capitalists after your retirement.”
When Charles heard that, his eyes gradually darkened, and he slowly put on his brawler’s gloves that were made of pure steel and covered in sharp spikes.
“You are right. If I don’t keep you here dead or alive, it would indeed be difficult for me to provide an explanation for my boss.” Charles slowly took back his cold smile, and then he immediately picked up a chair beside him and threw it at Xu Cheng.
Xu Cheng punched at the chair that flew over, shattering it to pieces.
With a loud roar, Charles charged over and threw a sturdy punch as he dashed at Xu Cheng.
Xu Cheng blocked the punch with his arm against Charles’ arm, but with a strong pull, Charles withdrew his fist. The exceptionally sharp spikes ripped Xu Cheng’s clothes open, also cutting open his skin.
Xu Cheng kicked him in the stomach and sent him back a few steps. Checking the wound on his arm, he was a bit shocked by his injury.
Charles licked the blood left on the spike and said, “This is made from the strongest diamond in this world. Are you familiar with the density of diamonds? Even if it’s a steel slab in front of me, I can smash through it!”
Xu Cheng tore off a piece of cloth from the edge of his clothes and casually wrapped up the wound. Then, he resumed the defensive posture of the Shadow Fist technique, with one foot in front and one at the back, ready to defend or attack.
Charles narrowed his eyes. “You are not European, that stance of yours… You’re Asian!”
Xu Cheng smiled. “Since you found out, then don’t dream about surviving this fight.”
As he spoke, he advanced with Shadow Steps. Shocked, Charles quickly dodged to protect the critical areas of his body while trying to defend using his two fists against Xu Cheng’s sharp attacks.
He tried to meet wherever Xu Cheng targeted with his spiked brawler’s gloves, trying to get Xu Cheng to hit the metal spikes. Xu Cheng was obviously not dumb. When his fist was about to hit Charles’s gloves, he immediately retracted his fist and swung his elbow around instead, landing a solid hit on Charles’s face.
Every punch Xu Cheng threw carried about a thousand pounds of force, and the elbow strike landing on Charles’s face was enough to make him dizzy and almost faint, feeling as if his jaw had almost dislocated. At least 3 teeth flew out of his mouth due to the sheer force of that attack.
Feeling that his whole head was about to dislocate to somewhere else, Charles immediately took a few steps back, wanting to create a buffer. But Xu Cheng took one big step forward, not giving Charles any chance to recover as he punched towards Charles’s temple. Charles struggled to block it with his fist, but Xu Cheng’s wrist suddenly softened as his fist turned into a solid palm strike, landing a solid smack onto Charles’s ear.
Charles’s brain shook hard in his skull, his eardrums ringing loudly as he felt as if the whole world was spinning.
After delivering that big smack, Xu Cheng stepped up once more, grabbing onto the back of the guy’s head, lifted his knee, and yanked his head hard against it.
Amidst the chaos, Charles tried to use his hands to push Xu Cheng’s knee down to prevent his forehead from cracking against the blow. But Xu Cheng’s other hand suddenly lifted high up into the air before descending rapidly from the sky with his elbow directly landing onto Charles’s neck.
With a loud bang, Charles felt as though his neck had been cut off. His whole body felt onto the ground as he continued spurting blood out of his mouth. Both of his eyes looked lifeless, his body trembled occasionally, but he never got back up again.
Xu Cheng directly dragged Charles’s body to where he had left a few drops of blood as well, letting Charles’s blood mix with his so the investigators wouldn’t be able to realize that there were a few drops of the actual thief’s blood amidst the pool that Charles was in.
Then, he walked towards the vault. The giant security door was equipped with iris, fingerprint, and voice recognition, and all of them were needed to open the gate. The security was pretty tight.
After taking a look at the security system, he thought to himself that he indeed needed some kind of preparation before coming to this place. But since he already went through all this trouble coming up, it would definitely be a shame to just leave now. Then, when he was thinking about how to approach this gate, his eyes landed on that Charles’s dead body, and then to his brawler’s gloves.
He directly went over to remove Charles’s gloves and wore it. Then, he aimed at the electronic pad on the gate and punched with full force. The voice that was just asking him to use the iris, fingerprint, and voice scanner stopped abruptly.
A deep dent appeared on the thick tempered steel plate. It was really because Xu Cheng had great power, as an ordinary person wouldn’t have been able to create such a dent even while wearing those diamond brawler’s gloves.
Xu Cheng continued with another punch, and the curvature of the dent deepened.
Another punch followed, and just with that simple yet brutal force, his punches rained down on the metal gate.
After over 50 or so punches, he was already covered in sweat, but the door was also deformed from the repeated pounding.
Finally, when Xu Cheng used his penetration vision and saw that he was just about 2 centimeters away from breaking the door, he took a few steps back, and charged wildly towards the door with his fist in the air. He delivered a mighty punch at the dent!
Boom!
With a loud bang, his fist pierced through the door. Finally, he tore the entire steel plate open and entered, and he saw the treasures hanging on all the walls.
He looked around for the two that belonged to Huaxia. These were all priceless historical treasures. After Xu Cheng packed them up, he saw the replica of Napoleon III’s crown. This crown was meant to be a gift from the chairman of the Franka Corporation to the Queen for her birthday, and it was a very valuable gift that was almost priceless. When looking at it, he suddenly had an idea in his mind.
After packing up all the cultural relics that could fit in his bag, Xu Cheng put the bag on his back. The elevator was down, and someone probably called the police already since it created such a mess down there and killed so many people. He didn’t want to take the stairs too because there were other security sensors there.
So, he chose to leave directly from the window. He buckled both of his hands on the window guardrail.
The design of the building was very organized, and pretty much every window of every floor was aligned. Hanging off the window railing of the 58th floor, Xu Cheng let go of his hands, allowing his body to fall to the 57th floor where he would use his thick and strong arms to grab onto the handrail of the 57th floor to weaken his freefall momentum, and then move down to the 56th floor, and then down another one. If someone were to witness this, they would definitely be dumbfounded. All the way up from the 58th floor, one missed handrail could mean a long freefall all the way to death. The person not only needed to coordinate their legs so they didn’t get in the way of falling past a handrail but also have strong enough arms to support the force between his weight and the velocity as they fell. One mistake and they could directly fall straight down and turn into meat paste on the ground.
Bei Shan observed with his binoculars and saw Xu Cheng already reaching the 20th floor, descending in that ridiculous fashion. He couldn’t help but comment, “Tsk tsk, no wonder the division master gave him the 2 of Diamonds. This guy probably still has no idea that in Landlord (TL note: a card game very popular in China), 2 is only below Joker…”
