A Sorcerer's Journey - Chapter 582
Chapter 582: It’s Settled, Then.
Within the Battle Command room, a Level-3 Great Demon-Hunter Sorcerer suddenly raised his hand, signalling for the crowd not to move recklessly.
The old Sorcerer had quite a reputation within the Battle Command. Almost half of the elite Sorcerers who were dissatisfied with Grimm became quiet immediately.
The old Sorcerer’s deep star-like gaze landed upon Grimm’s eyes.
“Sorcerer Grimm, you are now the highest authority within the Void Fortress of this expedition. You are to take responsibility for each and every one of your words and commands! You have bypassed the Stigmata Sorcerers in issuing an emergency battle plan. If the Stigmata Sorcerers were to take you up on it, your foolish actions would be enough to land you in prison in the Holy Towers for the rest of eternity!”
Beneath the Mask of Truth, Grimm’s eyes squinted for a moment.
“Yes, I take full responsibility for my actions!”
Grimm’s voice was exceptionally calm. After becoming a Level-2 Sorcerer, he had a renewed understanding of the Demon-Hunting Expedition as well as a foundation of wealth that he had built up. He could now answer for his own actions without fear.
Finally, the old Sorcerer lowered his hand. Without hesitation, he said, “Good!”
The old Sorcerer then sat on his own seat and yelled at the crowd of Demon-Hunter Sorcerers who were still hesitant. “Don’t just stand there, issue the emergency battle plan now! Do you want to breach the rules of the Holy Tower!?”
As the old Sorcerer shouted at them, the crowd of Demon-Hunter Sorcerers appeared to have emerged from their hesitations. They started to get busy again.
Woo…
The crisp voice from the battle horn began to sound from the Void Fortress!
A list of missions began flooding the department in charge of assigning the missions. At the bases of the Void Fortress, hatches that were originally shut began to open again. The engines of the void crafts began to rumble again as they flew out slowly.
From across the distance, squads of Demon-Hunter Sorcerers rushed back at full speed. Some of the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers who were conducting their own personal research or explorations, or even their own personal missions, dropped their tasks and rushed back to the fortress at the sound of the battle horn. Their faces had turned pale.
Buzz… buzz… buzz…
The elite Dark Demon-Hunter Sorcerer who were away on their missions turned back their mechanical bees. The emergency battle plan made the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers anxious. They were all rushing back to see what had happened in the Void Fortress.
Tens of thousands of Bright Sorcerer legions were quickly forming as they gathered from all directions in the sky, the internal Void Fortress, the nearby Magnetite Stones, as well as the Grand Peak Magnetite Star.
Hundreds of thousands of Demon-Hunter Sorcerers were now standing by at their battle stations from the will of the highest authority alone!
After their own strengths, this was the second type of power that the Stigmata Sorcerers and World Lords possessed; a power that was unimaginable and almost unmatched by any creatures below the level of a World Lord!
Ka-chak!
The cannon barrel of the Occult Pulverizer was slowly emerging from the base of the Void Fortress. A tremendous and staggering energy was being channeled ceasingly, exuding a terrifying aura that made almost all the nearby creatures out of breath!
The person who was controlling the Occult Pulverizer was none other than Grimm himself who also controlled the heart of the fortress!
In just half an hourglass’s time, almost two hundred thousand Demon-Hunter Sorcerers had gathered in the Void Fortress. They were all battle-ready.
There were still Demon-Hunter Sorcerers pouring in.
“What’s going on, did the Evil Blood Dreadlord break the seal?”
“Are there still other creatures in this world…”
On top of the Grand Peak Magnetite Star, a fraction of the Magnetites that had sensed the commotion became confused. The Evil Blood Dreadlord had been slain, the world should have returned to peace.
<hr />
Within the Void Fortress, all preparations for battle had been made.
The authoritative left hand of Grimm was pressing down on the heart of the fortress. A shimmering light was shining across the whole of the Battle Command. In the face of the devastating Occult Pulverizer, Grimm was so minute, so trivial.
“I wish to speak.”
Suddenly, Grimm turned toward the Sorcerers of the Battle Command. A female Sorceress operated her control panels and lowered a yellow crystal ball from a mechanical hand on top of Grimm.
A bright, yellow light shone upon Grimm’s body. Outside, a giant image spanning a hundred meters appeared in front of the hundreds of thousands of Demon-Hunter Sorcerers. Beneath the Mask of Truth, a pair of deep elemental eyes were lit up with passion that sent tremors to their hearts.
The Demon-Hunter Sorcerers shifted their eyes toward Grimm’s image.
“Fellow Demon-Hunter Sorcerers, as of this moment, I am the highest authority of the Void Fortress. As the representative of the Sorcerer’s Will of this expedition, I am ordering you to launch an all out attack on the extremely evil Magnetites and destroy the Grand Peak Magnetite Star, wipe out these inferior creatures that dare to fool their way through the great Sorcerer’s Will! They are the real invaders of this world, yet they’ve used the power of the Sorcerers to achieve their evil invasions, enslaving the poor, native inhabitants of this world.”
Grimm’s words sounded righteous indeed.
“The Sorcerer Coalition that upholds justice does not allow us to become culprits for the wrong-doers. We must exact revenge and obliterate these enemies that have the gall to lie to the Sorcerer Coalition. We must demonstrate our unstoppable force and defend the honor of the Sorcerers, we must drive them out from the Endless World!”
There was a fiery light beneath the Mask of Truth. A surge of will passed through Grimm’s left hand that was pressing against the heart of the fortress. The space all around the Void Fortress came to an abrupt silence.
It was exceptionally quiet. An overwhelming sense of pressure ensued, like the dawn before darkness, a calm before the storm.
Boom!
Suddenly, a column of scarlet light ignited from the barrels of the Occult Pulverizer. Although the barrel only had a ten-meter diameter, the shockwave that followed was more than two hundred meters wide. The target was the Grand Peak Magnetite Star that was hanging in the sky!
The light from the Occult Pulverizer teared across the sky. Anything that was standing in between, be it the Magnetites or the surrounding huge Magnetite Stones were instantly pulverized.
At the launch of the apocalyptic scarlet cannon, millions of debris shot out from the Grand Peak Magnetite Star. The Demon-Hunter Sorcerers obeyed the orders from the Battle Command as well as the Sorcerer’s Will and charged at the Grand Peak Magnetite Star, slaying the Magnetites and Magnetite Warriors that were still in a state of confusion. Their attack was unstoppable.
The fire of war had been lit. Faced with the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers, the weak Magnetites were like little girls who had no means of defending themselves as the ruthless Sorcerers tore apart their defences violently. The most fragile and supple part of their bodies were widely exposed.
As the Occult Pulverizer laid carnage across the Grand Peak Magnetite Star, innumerable buildings and civilizations were laid to waste, leaving only a trail of destruction that almost seemed to have slashed the Grand Peak Magnetite Star in half.
“It’s settled, then.”
Beneath the Mask of Truth, Grimm calmly expressed himself.
Even if the Stigmata Sorcerers were to return with the Light of Constellation by now, they would not be able to stop what was already happening. The fall of the Grand Peak Magnetite Star was certain.
As the Grand Peak Magnetite Star was being destroyed, Grimm could sense a faint feeling of something locking onto him.
It was the Will of the ancient Ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow, the finest material for his Robe of Representations.
“Get me Elland Garden Stigmata Sorcerer on the line.”
His words were liberating.
