A Sorcerer's Journey - Chapter 580
Chapter 580: The Sevenfold Rainbows VIII
“So, is this the law of the Rainbows?”
Grimm did not heedlessly enter the foreign land that exuded an ancient vibe. Although it was beautiful and dream-like, Grimm felt a terrifying threat lurking beneath the ethereal charm of the land.
The law of the Rainbows, to put it simply, was the ancient world’s camouflaging mechanism designed to kill!
In the sorcerer’s knowledge, this was a natural phenomenon of primary rainbows corresponding to secondary rainbows.
The color order of the primary rainbow was as such: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Beyond the seven colors were lights with higher wavelengths beyond the visual range of humans.
The secondary rainbow presented the colors in the opposite order.
Since ancient times, this world has been covered in mists. The primary and secondary rainbows were embedded among the mists. The evolutionary framework of the inhabitants leaned toward light and camouflage.
Every single one of the creatures that had adapted to the evolutionary framework of the rainbow law were deadly hunters skilled in the art of camouflage. They specialized in delivering killing blows from the back.
Amongst them was a creature that had dominated the peak of the food chain in this camouflage-based evolutionary framework that had completely taken control of the world. The creature was known as the Sevenfold Rainbow.
The Sevenfold Rainbow, a name that ignited the aesthetic sense.
But in the ancient Rainbow World, the Sevenfold Rainbow was a symbol of absolute power and carnage!
When the Magnetite Stars fell down from the heavens, many of the World Lords of the Magnetite World that still had their world powers with them attempted to overthrow the balance of the world. Under a Magnetite Cataclysm, they started to destroy and evict the lights of the Rainbow World and installed their own Magnetite Rays as replacement.
A Magnetite Cataclysm!
Not only the Sevenfold Rainbow, but also every inhabitant of the world that had evolved by camouflaging themselves into the rainbows soon lost their prized environmental conditions that allowed them to stay hidden. The Magnetite Rays that were scattered throughout the world had completely exposed the ancient creatures that were adept in hiding themselves.
In the end, the Rainbow World was defeated by the Magnetite World Lords and the cataclysm that they had brought upon the world in an ancient battle.
The world was then renamed as the Magnetite World!
Although the Sevenfold Rainbows had lost the battle, the Magnetites that had passed through the void were still shy from a total victory.
Caught in despair, the Level-6 Ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow had hidden and sealed the core of the world with its own body, forming an illusory seal that lasted for a long period of time.
For tens of thousands of years, the energy of the Magnetites was being drained away endlessly as they did not receive the blessings of the World-Core. They had to endure the rejecting force of the whole world while waiting for the seal of the Ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow to wear off before they could be recognized by the Principal Will of the world and ascend to become the new lords of the world.
But none of them knew that the insignificantly weak Sevenfold Rainbow that had fled would one day become the savior of the world. It reached the peak of Level-3 upon its return ten thousand years later and found the World-Core after tracing it to its ancestor’s blood. It was able to inherit the Principal Will of the world easily!
When a world was filled with resources and vitality, and did not have a World Lord, it was the easiest time to attain recognition from the Principal Will of the world.
As such, as the Sevenfold Rainbow turned into what the Magnetites called the Evil Blood Dreadlord and led a group of ancient creatures into the Blood Evolution to fight the Magnetites in a war to seal each other for tens of thousands of years, thus reaching the point right now.
The Magnetites were left with their last star when they had managed to make contact with the powerful Sorcerers World in the Foreign Worlds. They had summoned the terrifyingly evil Sorcerers into this tiny world wrought with chaos.
The Evil Blood Dreadlord had wasted much of its Evil Blood. Its last hope of reviving the Rainbow law began when it started training a massive army of loyalists within the dark caves after the ancient war. Now, its life had come to an end.
The Sorcerers dominated this world with absolute power. Be it ideologically or in terms of physical warfare, or even within the frameworks of a society, the Sorcerers had absolute dominance.
The Sorcerers World was unstoppable!
And amongst the Stigmata Sorcerers who had descended upon this world, their eyes were set upon the Star Core. It was a high-level energy essence that could enhance the base potential of the Stigmata Sorcerers, a prized treasure in the Endless World!
The Evil Blood Dreadlord possessed five of these prized treasures in total. When the Dagutha Magnetite Star fell, it became a total of six. The Magnetites were only left with the last star core from the Grand Peak Magnetite Star.
It was why the Stigmata Sorcerers stood by the Magnetites’ side to capture all of the Evil Blood Dreadlords’ Magnetite Star Cores.
“By now, the Stigmata Sorcerers should’ve successfully sealed off the other half of the Evil Blood Dreadlord’s body and acquired their prized Magnetite Star Core. They would conduct a deep study on the world’s history and go with the Light of Constellation from the Grand Peak Magnetite Star to the World-Core. They would surely discover the sealed ancestral body of the Sevenfold Rainbow…”
Grimm’s eyes lit up beneath the Mask of Truth as he stood upon the scenic foreign ancient land that went by the Sevenfold Rainbow’s law.
“There’s no more time for hesitation!”
***
In a strange area that appeared to be unaffected by the World Veil.
Above him was a dark underground cavern while the Sevenfold Rainbow World lied beneath. There was a barrier that separated the two worlds in the middle.
The barrier was what used to be the Ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow’s seal that had lost its purpose.
The barrier was like a spatial boundary. Creatures that had no understanding of this barrier would never figure out that it was a barrier. They were only living on top of a “paper dimension”.
Plop!
Suddenly, a bubble emerged from the formless barrier. A seven-colored light burst out from the bubble. At this moment, Grimm felt a chill. He could clearly sense an evil aura that was looking at him through the unknown camouflage behind the barrier.
These were the real ancient creatures of the ancient Rainbow World that had lived by the Rainbow law!
The light from the rainbow formed the best condition for their camouflage. Under this disguise, their battle-worthiness was similar to Grimm’s Nightmare Hunter in the Bizarre Nightmare World or Grimm’s current Darkness Pool camouflage.
They were the last protectors of the world. They might be nothing compared to a World Lord or a whole race of creatures, but for Grimm, they were powerful enemies that he could not face head-on.
What to do?
On one hand, there was the time constraint. On the other, he could not carve out a safe path ahead. Grimm anxiously circled outside the rainbow light.
Three days later.
Grimm was stunned.
As Grimm flew around heedlessly, the law beneath the illusory barrier no longer followed the Rainbow law. The light of Magnetite had appeared instead. Had the Magnetite law infiltrated into the seal!?
This…
It reminded Grimm of the World-Core of the Sorcerers World. There was a dark patch on it.
Did the darkness represent the portion of the Sorcerers World that had been completely taken over by the Bizarre Nightmare World?
Over the years, the law of Magnetite Rays had been absorbed to become part of the world’s laws. It was the curse of the World Guardians from the seal of the Sevenfold Rainbow’s ancestral body that had continued the world’s rejection against the Magnetite laws.
No longer hesitant, Grimm crossed the barrier that had since lost its purpose into the ancient world that had been sealed off by the Ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow.
There was a violent presence within the ancient sealed area. Distorted Magnetite Rays penetrated from all directions through the water droplets as they brushed against Grimm’s body and flowed into a distance.
Grimm was unperturbed. He surveyed the surroundings and sensed around quietly.
There was no presence of other creatures. The last World Guardian of the world was active on the other side of the Rainbow law.
“The ancient Ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow and the World Guardians probably didn’t think that this would happen even in their despair!”
Grimm was thrilled. He flew into the direction of the beating World-Core without heed.
“This… is this the body of the Ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow?”
There was a huge patch of colorful fluid emanating an infinite spring of seven colors in front of Grimm. The fluid exuded a sense of purity and friendliness as if it were a part of nature. If it were not for the beating World-Core inside, anyone would have missed it entirely.
Like the calling of the bloodprint within its body, before Grimm could go near it, a drop of seven-colored fluid dropped onto Grimm’s face.
Splash!
The droplet splattered onto Grimm’s face. An ancient will entered Grimm’s soul.
Quite a while later, Grimm opened his eyes. Beneath the Mask of Truth, Grimm’s breath quickened.
“The trial has been acquired! The blood essence of the Ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow shall belong to the one who can bring down the last Magnetite Star before the Principal Will of the world gets infiltrated completely by the Magnetites!”
