A Sorcerer's Journey - Chapter 573
Chapter 573: The Sevenfold Rainbow I
On top of the fortress, several of the Evil Blood’s clones were still in battle.
The Void Fortress defense could have ended the fight sooner, but since there were only a few of the Evil Blood’s clones, they posed no threat to the fortress. The Demon-Hunter Sorcerers were just unwilling to share the rewards of slaying the Evil Blood’s clones after they were assured of victory.
“Looks like the Evil Blood Dreadlord harbors great hatred toward the Magnetites! Even in their deaths, they were still trying to inflict the greatest damage on the Grand Peak Magnetite Star.”
A part of the Dreadlord’s body twitched as they shone the Five Eternal Mirror upon it. Little by little, its body was being sealed off.
Another portion of its body had split away into clones that scattered around the area. Each of the clones had different strengths as they charged toward the Grand Peak Magnetite Star, killing any Magnetites within their range.
The attack on the Void Fortress of the Sorcerers World was just an attempt to delay the Sorcerers’ reinforcement.
“My name is Karajan, the Grand Peak Magnetite Star is now filled with the Evil Blood’s clones. Will you join me in killing them? With both our powers, we could even defeat the Evil Blood that has split off from the Dreadlord.”
Karajan looked at Grimm with great interest.
But Grimm was unimpressed. Karajan paused for a moment before trying to persuade him further.
“Hehe, I say we are going to kill the Evil Blood’s clones, but in reality, how many would go for this purpose alone? Now that the Light of Constellation no longer exists in the Grand Peak Magnetite Star, and chaos is all around due to the invasion of the Evil Bloods, it is a good chance for us to plunder. Hehehehe, this world is too weak, the Demon-Hunting Expedition is going to come to an end soon…”
“No, I’ve got other things to do.”
Grimm shrugged and rejected him without hesitation.
The Grand Peak Magnetite Star had lost the Light of Constellation?
Compared to this, Grimm was more interested in the camouflage seal of the Ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow, the World-core that was no longer guarded by the Evil Blood Dreadlord!
Once the Stigmata Sorcerers had completely sealed off the Evil Blood Dreadlord, Grimm would lose this chance forever.
Perhaps there were better materials that could be used to make the Robe of Representations other than the body of the Ancestral Sevenfold Rainbow. By then, however, Grimm would not have much opportunity to begin his search.
Grimm was considered to be powerful amongst the ranks of an ordinary Demon-Hunting Expedition force of the Void Fortress. Yet, compared to the Endless World, he was too weak; too insignificant.
“Hmm… very well then.”
The Level-3 Great Sorcerer nodded and said nothing more. Like the other Demon-Hunter Sorcerers of the Void Fortress, he flew toward the Grand Peak Magnetite Star where fierce battles were taking place.
“Wait for me here.”
Grimm said to Little Myna that was perched on his shoulder before landing on top of the fortress with breakneck speed.
“Caw! I’m not coming along? …Alright then.”
The myna pondered for a while and concluded that it would be pointless for him to go down the underground cavern with him. So, he agreed to remain in the fortress.
Grimm was descending at great speed. He did not care much about the battle between the Stigmata Sorcerers and the Evil Blood Dreadlord.
Although his power had gone up, joining the Stigmata Sorcerers’ battle to seal off the Evil Blood Dreadlord would be an extremely heedless decision. Not only would it be impossible to earn anything from it, he would also put himself in grave danger.
The expelling force of the Gravity Stone overlapping with the pulling force of the Star Stone launched Grimm into great speed. A sudden lightning elemental teleportation transported him into hundreds of meters away.
With blazing speed, Grimm rushed into the underground cavern opening that was broken apart by the Evil Blood Dreadlord.
At the underground entrance that was dug up by the Evil Blood Dreadlord, the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers and Magnetite Heroes that followed the four Stigmata Sorcerers and the Light of Constellation were pouring out continuously. Only Grimm was flying back into the underground cavern.
Whoosh!
Grimm flew past many of the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers. Most of them looked at Grimm puzzlingly. They did not know why Grimm was not following the Stigmata Sorcerers nor plundering at the Grand Peak Magnetite Star.
But as a Rank-1 Honor Badge Sorcerer, none had the privilege to ask of his intentions other than the Stigmata Sorcerers.
Although the Stigmata Sorcerers had taken notice of the Rank-1 Honor Badge Sorcerer in the beginning, he was still a Level-1 Sorcerer back then. They did not give him a private audience nor did they assign him to any special missions.
Whoosh!
Flying at blazing speed, the ultrasound positioning sorcery of his Mask of Truth helped Grimm navigate perfectly within the dark cavern. The winding terrain of the underground cavern was of no hindrance to Grimm.
The path was passed through by the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers recently and thus there were no Evil Bloods. It was smooth-sailing for Grimm all the way.
Three days later.
As a Bloodprint Creature of this world, Grimm pursued the light of the Sevenfold Rainbow within the underground caverns. Traversing between the dark underground tunnels, more and more Bloodprint Creatures emerged. Their attacks became more frequent.
Despite the absolutely weak attacks of the Bloodprint Creatures, their attacks were frequent. Without his Sabbatic Goat Staff, which could reduce half of his mana consumption, Grimm had wasted too much mana dealing with the Bloodprint Creatures. At this rate, he would have to stop somewhere and meditate to replenish his mana.
But most of all, killing these Bloodprint Creatures was of no benefit to Grimm.
“If I had the Robe of Representations to hide myself, I wouldn’t be troubled right now…”
Huh?
Grimm seemed to have remembered something. He stretched his arms wide open. Slowly, a Darkness Pool started to spread across his body like a weave of dark fabric.
In some parts of the world where the Darkness Pool reigned, darkness no longer represented the shadows. Instead, light became the world’s rare entity that was held back by darkness.
The creatures that relied upon the darkness could live normally in the dark world. To some of the photophobic creatures, light caused them physical harm. Some of the creatures that had strong resentment of the light were terrified and disgusted by them, and shunned them like poison.
One could easily travel within the darkness by mastering the Darkness Pool. He would be able to transform into darkness and hide in the most perfect way visually. One who befriended the darkness would be relied upon and offered protection by the dark creatures.
Was not the dark environment of the caverns the perfect place for darkness?
Hence, Grimm could hide perfectly. It did not matter how strong the creature’s perception of light was; they would not be able to see him through the Darkness Pool that could consume light!
And thus, Grimm had truly found his visual “camouflage”.
“How could I be so silly to have forgotten this.”
Grimm lamented. The Darkness Pool was not some kind of mystical power that had offensive capabilities and required certain conditions to be effective. Therefore, it was not the first thing that came into Grimm’s mind.
Of all the mystical powers, Grimm had only come into contact with three, notwithstanding some special incantation, rites and rituals.
The first one would be Little Myna’s poop that could pass through any defenses. Grimm deduced that this trait could very well come from Antonio, the most powerful of Ancient Sorcerers, who was also the past owner of Little Myna. He had since left the Endless World.
The second was the mysterious metal used to forge his Sabbatic Goat Staff.
A part of the mysterious metal used to forge Grimm’s Sabbatic Goat Staff was obtained from the guts of a mutated snake in the enigmatic Shadow World. Another part of it came from Lefay, which was passed down to her by her grandfather, a Level-3 Great Sorcerer.
The mysterious metal had the power to meld perfectly into flesh.
The last one would be the Darkness Pool that had been perfectly absorbed by the Dark Devourer Infernal Spirit Giant.
It could draw in all light and hide perfectly in the darkness. In a certain world where the Darkness Pool reigned, it could even befriend creatures of the dark. A shadow that was unperturbed by light!
Perhaps it would be better to name it the undying shadows instead of calling it the Darkness Pool.
As Grimm cloaked himself in the Darkness Pool, the Bloodprint Creatures no longer attacked him. Grimm traversed swimmingly within the darkness. He melded into the shadows and headed for the distant light of the Sevenfold Rainbow.
