A Sorcerer's Journey - Chapter 398
Chapter 398: The Isa Family
Ten years later.
“Brother Grimm, are you really leaving?”
While Grimm was still in the lab, Vivian asked while looking at him with a broken heart, Grimm gave the Myna who was on Vivian’s shoulder a stare, and he knew that it must have been him who had leaked that piece of information.
“Master, I was just bidding farewell!” the Myna replied.
Grimm let out a sigh while reminiscing the past memories of him and his little sister, although they had not really closely bonded, but he was very satisfied with her wisdom and the ability to resist pressure.
Thirty years had gone by, Vivian had grown from a dull little girl into an elegant woman, while her irresistibly attractive appearance had gotten the attention of male sorcerer-apprentices, she had also found herself a lover.
In other words, Grimm had accompanied Vivian throughout her growth process.
“Hmm, my purpose of coming back was to assign a sorcerer from the academy on a mission to build a large scale lab equipment, as the mission is close to its end, I will need to bring the mission back to the Holy Tower.”
Throughout Vivian’s entire life that was rather short, Grimm was her senior brother, as well as a close family member who had accompanied her during her growth process.
However, compared to Grimm’s life experience, Vivian’s presence was rather insignificant to him. By the time Grimm had come back from the next demon hunting expedition, she would be left behind in Grimm’s memories if she had not qualified as an official sorceress by then.
Judging from Vivian’s wise and sharp mentality, Grimm foresaw that she had a high chance of being qualified as an official sorceress; however, fate was always unpredictable and Grimm would never be able to understand how it worked, and not even the great Celestial Sorcerer would be able to do so.
“Oh… as Mavrica Nevichy said earlier, you will only return after more than three hundred years?” Vivian asked with a heavy heart.
She could hardly imagine what could happen by then, as three hundred years was indeed too long for a sorcerer-apprentice.
“Oh, most probably.”
Grimm did not put on his mask while he was in his own lab, he looked and smiled at Vivian with his charming face.
“Keep up your effort and prepare for the battle of the Holy Tower qualification that is coming up in thirty years, and once you have qualified as a Reserve Demon-Hunter Sorcerer, you will be led by your master towards the Holy Tower of Seven Rings, and along the way, you might be able to pay me a visit at the Demon-Hunter Castle.”
Being a mature sorcerer-apprentice, Vivian enjoyed visiting Grimm’s temporary lab at the Black Isotta, there were a lot of discoveries that had made her amazed, which had also fuelled her anticipation towards Grimm’s actual lab that was at the Demon-Hunter Castle.
“Hmm.”
***
On the seventy-seventh floor of the Black Isotta.
Grimm was seated along with Nilmar and Solumn.
“A concealed sorcerer robe would greatly restrain Nilmar’s ability as a Sound Wave Sorcerer if it was made from fur obtained from the Soundhide.”
Grimm was gathering his thoughts while he was having a discussion with both of them.
Obviously, Nilmar had been told by Solumn about the news of Grimm obtaining the Rank-1 Honor Badge. As soon as Grimm had arrived, he welcomed him with a feast that was prepared with rare and expensive ingredients.
The reason Nilmar was named Fake Faceless Nilmar was because there were no facial features on his face.
It was mysteriously flat and smooth.
While Nilmar was sitting upright, there were more than ten crows crawling their way out from his sleeves, they were enjoying the food and the wine, some were even talking to Grimm; however, Nilmar still felt slightly uneasy due to the presence of Grimm as an official sorcerer.
“Hehe, both of you were from the same batch of sorcerers from Black Isotta Sorcerer Academy; and being sorcerers, there is still a long journey ahead. Although Dark Sorcerers might not always be friendly; however, sorcerers are still human beings that lived in the endless world and they would at least get to have some friends.”
A crow that stood on Nilmar’s shoulder spoke with a calm but hoarse voice.
The entire hall seemed to be surrounded by a mysterious energy, and the atmosphere around them was unusual and repressive.
“Hahahaha, Master Nilmar, how did you know that bat meat is my favourite, and you have prepared so much for me.”
Lord Myna spoke cheerfully while he stood on a dining plate.
Solumn who was sitting right beside him retorted, “Weren’t you the one who kept requesting for bat meat when you were at the food street of the Holy Tower of Seven Rings?”
Obviously, Solumn was referring to the time when Grimm had his rebirth after hundreds of years of imprisonment within the Holy Tower of Seven Rings.
Grimm nodded his head at Nilmar and asked Solumn, “Soon, along the way on my return to the Holy Towers, I am planning to pay a visit to Alastair from Isabell’s Family, what about you?”
“Alastair?”
Solumn pondered for a short while and suddenly replied, “I have already noticed something unusual about this guy since the time we were on the cruise. Sorcerers and sorcerer-apprentices who are now successors of the The Death Sail League will never remember the Five Spell Casters who had initially founded the league, and to them, Alastair is the only founder. Because of Isabelle, Alastair has now become one of the rulers in the Isa Family, and low level Demon-Hunters like us are incomparable to their excessive amount of wealth and possession.”
Grimm nodded in return.
At least, in the area of resource gathering, neither Grimm nor Solumn could compare with the achievements of Alastair.
Solumn finished his cup of green resin wine and said, “I will still spend some time in the academy, at least until the completion of the next Holy Tower qualifying round of the sorcerer-apprentice; only then, will I go to the Holy Tower of Seven Rings along with the master.”
Grimm nodded.
Grimm had also heard about the new trend that was happening in the academy, it was led by the four brothers from the Ukudale City who were being introduced into the Death Sail League by Grimm, their names were now widely known among the sorcerer-apprentices.
***
On the seventy-ninth floor of the Black Isotta.
Grimm handed over the mission scrolls of the ‘Observation tool of Destructive Energy’ to Master Peranos, which consisted of thirty-six base components that were being appointed in the mission scrolls; after Master Peranos had cross-checked with the mission workflow, he nodded and brought Grimm to the ninety-first floor of the Black Isotta.
There were thirty-six base components of the ‘Observation tool of Destructive Energy’ being aligned neatly in a mission storage room, and they were divided into two groups of eighteen base components in accordance to their attributes, water and fire respectively.
Grimm nodded after examining all of the components and stored them in the dimensional gap.
“Well, Master, I shall now return to the Holy Tower.”
Grimm bade farewell after he had accompanied Master Peranos back to the seventy-ninth floor.
“Hmm.”
Master Peranos nodded while he looked at Grimm with his face that was full of scars, he was pleased with Grimm’s accomplishment as an independent official sorcerer. “By the time you return, remember to bring me to the Founding Master of Netherheart for examinations, as your elder sister apprentice is not here, I do not expect your second elder brother apprentice to defend my honor for me against your founding master.” he then said.
Grimm obliged and nodded, then bade farewell to Garnigel who was lazily sunbathing. He proceeded to take out the Starfall Reconnaissance Craft from the dimensional gap.
A screeching sound was heard when half of the cabin layer was closed shut, and then it disappeared into the shadows as it flew far away.
***
One and a half months later.
The Starfall Reconnaissance Craft traveling at a high speed made a stop at Isa City after it flew across the mountains of Human Will.
There were giant airships docked at the air terminal, while the surroundings were crowded with sorcerers and creatures of all kinds, and the level of bustling was much greater compared with the little cities around the outer parts of the academy.
The city was the private territory of the Isa family, and under the name of the Sorcerer Coalition, the family had been involved with the trading of resources from around the world to gain sorcerer coins, Onyx stones, Sorcerer Essences…
The level of prosperity of the family was similar to the Purple Tulip family, which was the family that once bought the Love Vials from Grimm.
Soon, the news of the arrival of the Starfall Reconnaissance Craft was being conveyed to the ruling sorcerer of the family, and there were six sorcerers who came out and walked towards the terminal.
There were two Level-1 sorcerers, three Level-2 sorcerers, and one Level-3 great sorcerer!
“Hmm, a Level-1 sorcerer?”
The sorcerers were shocked by the Demon-Hunter that came out from the Starfall Reconnaissance Craft.
Being a family that had a strong influence in the central region of the Holy Towers of Seven Rings, the Isa family had funded the construction of a total of twenty-nine Stigmata Sorcerer Towers, and from the long term close ties they had built with the three Stigmata Sorcerers, they were accessible to many highly classified information.
Among all the influential secret organizations in the Sorcerer World, the Holy Towers organization was one of the most established ruling organizations.
The White Robe Organization was formed by four major combinations of the Demon Hunter Consociation, Dawn Sages, Mechanical Gears, and Abyss Dawn; while there were also others such as the Secrets of Life and Death from the Black Robe Organization, Legendary Knights from Umbra Sorcerer Academy, and also Sorcerer Will from the Guardians of the Sorcerers World.
To a higher extent, there were still many sorcerer civilizations that ruled different clusters around the world, and they took place in various sizes, such as the Eternal Dominator, God Among Gods, World Lord, Celestial Sorcerer, and Stigmata Sorcerer; all of those had resulted in a massive organization that shared the same purpose to preserve the Sorcerer Law.
A Starfall Reconnaissance Craft would usually only be owned by Level-3 Demon-Hunters that were elites in the Demon Hunter Consociation, how did it get into the hands of a Level-1 sorcerer…
Suddenly, one of the Level-1 sorcerers among the group of six shivered and said to the others in a deep and terrified voice, “Rank-1 Honor Badge!”
Grimm greeted the sorcerers as per custom and said, “I am Grimm from Black Isotta Sorcerer Academy, I am here to meet Alastair and I have already contacted him earlier, I apologize for the trouble caused.”
“Hahahaha, your instinct was right, my master is a Demon-Hunter that had received the award of a Rank-1 Honor Badge.”
Lord Myna laughed at the Level-1 Demon-Hunter.
Myna was very happy to see that there was finally a Demon-Hunter that could sense Grimm’s Honor Badge, as he was very proud of Grimm’s status, and if it was possible, he would want the entire world to know about Grimm.
