A Sorcerer's Journey - Chapter 157
Chapter 157: A Pet Dog?
“So this is a shapeless World Fragment that is not bound to any rules, just like what master once described.”
As Grimm waved his hand in the air, a distorted crescent-shaped crack appeared, separating reality and illusion. He took out a container wrapped in a black cloth from the Dimensional Gap, then closed it with another wave of his hand.
The black cloth was gently removed, revealing a crystal container with a golden fruit of the size of a human head. It was curled up and sleeping soundly, breathing lightly with its tiny mouth like a baby. Saliva flew out of its mouth like a silver string, before it could drip it was immediately sucked back into its mouth.
It was the Gold Ginseng Grimm received back in the secret realm of Black Isotta Tower.
After Grimm took the Gold Ginseng from Black Isotta Tower’s secret realm, he returned to the academy labs and found the amazing effect of this fruit. As the Holy Tower’s qualification battle was approaching then, Grimm had put aside his idea of initiating the grand Gold Ginseng Orchard Cultivation scheme. Instead of eating it, Grimm put a lot of effort into cultivating it for it to be able to reach the current size of a head.
Grimm had been waiting for the moment to start his grand Gold Ginseng Orchard Cultivation in a World Fragment after he had advanced to an official Demon-Hunter Sorcerer. After hundreds and thousands of years later, he could have his very own Gold Ginseng Tree that was a few hundred meters tall.
In the blink of an eye, Grimm landed back on the black island in the center of the World Fragment.
Grimm then took out six middle-grade magic stones and some restricted magical ingredients. A six-pointed star magic array appeared as Grimm pictured it in his head. Strong life force gathered in the middle of the spell after its activation.
With his eyes closed, Grimm used his mental power to evaluate the quality of the energy force within the spell. After making some minor modifications to his spell, Grimm was finally satisfied with it. He threw a few black stones into the center of the spell.
These were the Tjugealong Stones conjured by Black Sorcerers using the flesh and blood of creatures.
Woosh…
A fireball formed on Grimm’s fingertips, stirring the fat golden fruit from its sleep with its warm light. The fat golden fruit pulled itself upright for a brief moment, then flopped back onto the floor due to its overwhelming obesity. It was like a turtle turned over on its back. It was so adorable!
“Woo woo woo… You meanie, what did you feed me? I have slept for such a long time, where exactly am I?” The golden fruit opened its eyes wide, and cried out loud.
“If you make more noise I will inject you again!” Grimm warned the fruit as he put out his fireball.
This unique mutated lifeform from the World Fragment seemed to hate the light. If it was exposed to light for too long, it might fall sick.
The Gold Ginseng was terrified by the word “inject”. It cowered in fear while covering its mouth with both of its hands, scared of what Grimm might do to it.
Grimm smiled and lifted the big fat fruit with his hands.
The texture of the Gold Ginseng was soft and dewy like a baby’s skin. Its flesh, that trembled from fear, and its body was warm. Tears trickled out of his eyes while both of its hands covered its mouth. Its armpits were sweaty too.
The Gold Ginseng could not be blamed. In the mind of the big fat fruit, Grimm’s grin had stirred up countless nightmarish evil doings that might befall it in his hands.
Grimm delicately placed the Gold Ginseng on the Tjugealong Stone. Using repulsive and attractive forces, Grimm moved a heap of nearby black soil to bury the Gold Ginseng alive.
“You meanie, you, you… What are you doing? Woo woo woo… I… ”
Ignoring the Gold Ginseng’s howl of desperation, Grimm buried it along with the magic array and remarked, “Hmph, little one, follow your basic instincts and grow as you should. If I do not see you sprouting by next month, or if in the off-chance that you are dumb enough to choke yourself to death, I will grind and squeeze you into ginseng juice.”
Grimm barely noticed, nor was he bothered by the slight movements visible beneath the soil. He stopped his channeling and snapped his fingers. With that, Grimm returned to the altar once again.
Grimm was getting better at playing with the rules of the sorcerer world.
The bright and warm sunlight shone relentlessly on the huge test bench in front of Grimm as he removed his Moist Armor and went for a quick shower. Grimm then put on loose sorcerer robes and began to decorate his own laboratory.
However, Grimm had no intention whatsoever of starting his research on his unfinished studies on sorcerer knowledge. In the long run, there were still some essential tasks that needed to be taken care of in preparation for this research.
The first task on the list was to improve his Passive Elemental Resistance to become a die-hard bait, or to defend himself in any crossed-world war. He had to enhance and polish his Ashen Mask’s Defensive Barrier.
Next, he had to master the sorcerer barrier and accumulate negative energy, Despair. As for curses, Grimm planned to temporarily put aside this skill. His current plan required a tight schedule arrangement with little time to spare. Besides, his myna was already equipped with a few curses. All he needed to do was to work with his myna.
Last but not least, was to study how to effectively manage his magic essences through the goods and services exchange that was available within the Seven Rings Holy Tower.
Three days later…
Grimm finally completed the decoration of his laboratory. After leaving his room, he flew straight to the center of the Tree of Life.
As Grimm was flying across the sky, he noticed two leisure chairs on his neighbor’s lawn, one big and one small. His stinky myna was enjoying itself, sunbathing together with a Bright Sorcerer. Two female Sub-humans were smiling beside them while carrying cold fruit juices.
The stinky myna spread its wings, revealing the soft green feathers on his tummy while playfully snatching some shelled fruits from one of the female Sub-humans. It was having a good time joking around with the Bright Sorcerer while cracking open the shelled fruits.
Why you…
No wonder it was not spotted anywhere nearby these few days. What a great life it was having!
Hmph!
Grimm was left speechless at the sight of his Soul Slave. Aware of how futile it would be to discipline his Soul Slave, he would rather treat it as his partner. It would not be a partnership if he were to set too many rules on his Soul Slaves.
Everything was just great.
Grimm ignored the myna who was having the time of its life on his neighbor’s lawn and flew straight towards the direction of the Tree of Life.
Meanwhile, on the lawn, a female Sub-human was rubbing sunscreen on the old half-naked sorcerer while her master was enjoying himself drinking fruit juice. “Your master is flying towards the Tree of Life, don’t you want to follow him?”
Crack…
The myna sat up straight when it saw Grimm flew by, then plopped itself back onto its chair and chewed on a piece of fruit “What master, ha-ha, that little bastard is nothing but my pet dog.”
Grimm’s blood would have boiled if he had heard what that stinky bird was claiming out loud. It would have certainly gone through hell under his wrath.
“Oh?”
The old sorcerer was amused and he tried not to laugh at its remark. Indeed, this myna acted remarkably different from other Soul Slaves.
“How so?”
The myna flipped itself over and exposed its back to the warm sunlight. It waved to a nearby female Sub-human asking for its juice.
The proud myna started giving a speech in return, “Think about it, in every tale, there will be a master who owns a magnificent beast as a pet, right? That guy is a magnificent pet I keep. Whoever dares to mock me… hehe, I will release Grimm to bite him, hehe… Go, Beast Grimm, Go!”
Everyone, including the old sorcerer and a few beautiful young female Sub-humans, looked at the myna at the same time and burst into laughter.
What an interesting thing for a sorcerer to own such a Soul Slave in the sorcerer world.
