Chapter 99 The Teenage Girl
Yang Ning didn’t know who the losers were as the teenage girl mentioned, but he also found another man not far away wearing the same clothes as the snake hunter’s. And both of them were tall and big with a three-tined fork. They were like twins.

One burly man was nailed to the tree and lowered his head without breathing. Nobody knew if he had died or fainted. The other burly man rolling on the ground screamed miserably. A snake hunter stepped forward and took a rope off himself. He didn’t fear the poisonous snakes on the burly man and tied him up.

The crossbow and arrows in Zhao Yuan’s hand had been thrown away earlier, and he was exhausted after the poisonous snakes harassed him. He leaned against a big tree and the snakes coiled around his arms and neck. Then he softened and sat down next to the big tree slowly.

Yang Ning looked at the person in the tree. Although the fair-skinned legs and the melodious voice showed that it was a girl, he couldn’t see her face clearly.

Suddenly that teenage girl was falling, and Yang Ning was surprised, thinking that she fell from the branch by accident. The branch was at least five or six meters tall. If she fell down, she would be badly injured or even die. He shouted involuntarily, “Be careful…”

While the girl was falling, she raised one arm, with a whip in her hand. The whip was not short, and it was hung like a rope. The girl grabbed it and swung in the midair, looking nimble. She giggled and asked Yang Ning, “Did you remind me to be careful?”

Yang Ning guessed that the two snake hunters might side with this girl. Both of the hunters were ruthless, and this girl came from nowhere. She might not be a good person. He just shouted in anxiety earlier. Hearing the girl’s question, he didn’t answer.

The girl swung in the air and suddenly flew out like a bird. When Yang Ning was astonished, she had fallen on the ground. She shook her arm and the long whip was withdrawn quickly. The girl grabbed the whip and stood in front of Yang Ning three or four steps away.

Yang Ning saw clearly that the girl wore a pair of purple short pants and a vest in red, yellow and blue, with a purple headcloth and a pair of shiny silver earrings. It was cold at night in late autumn and the temperature in the mountain was low, but this girl dressed in short pants and a vest was fine and didn’t feel cold seemingly.

She wore a bangle on her wrist and stood in front of him. Her arms and legs were revealed and dazzling as they were fair-skinned like snow. Yang Ning looked at her. Her bright eyes were piercing and shining like stars. She had beautiful facial features and clear eyes and white teeth, looking lovely, but her face showed that she was smart, and her eyes blinked, with long eyelashes flashing. She looked Yang Ning up and down and then showed a charming smile. “Hey, I asked you. Can’t you understand what I said?”

She spoke with an accent of Ba Shu, but Yang Ning could understand. He didn’t know about this girl’s background, so he responded indifferently, “You can say that I don’t understand.” He thought that since the girl was with poisonous snakes and wasps, although she was beautiful and adorable, she might not be a good person.

He felt a sharp stab of pain on the part where the poisonous wasp had stung. Then he raised his hand to touch it and found that it was swollen.

“I asked you. Just answer me.” The girl’s smile disappeared. “You were stung by the wasp. Without me, you will die.”

Yang Ning didn’t know if what she said was true, but he knew that the poison from the wasp was strong. He frowned. “I never offended you. Why did you let the poisonous wasps sting me?”

The girl didn’t care. “I will do whatever I want. Can you control me?” She looked around and saw the crossbow thrown on the ground by Zhao Yuan. Then she was interested in it and hung the whip on her slim waist. She walked over and picked up the crossbow. While fiddling with it, she laughed. “I will see which is more powerful.”

Yang Ning didn’t understand what she meant and saw the girl grabbing the crossbow walk to Zhao Yuan. She whistled, and surprisingly, the poisonous snakes coiling around Zhao Yuan seemed to understand the whistle and stopped moving. They just entangled him.

The girl held the crossbow and aimed at Zhao Yuan. When she checked it carefully, she asked, “Hey, which part of your body do you think I should shoot?”

Enmity was shown in Zhao Yuan’s eyes, and he asked, “Who on earth are you? Do you…know who I am?”

“I don’t know.” The girl squatted. She grabbed the crossbow with one hand and supported her chin with the other, asking with a sweet smile, “Who are you?”

Zhao Yuan was breathless while he was pestered by the poisonous snakes. “You… You’d better take your people away immediately. Otherwise, you will suffer a living death.”

Yang Ning heard that and thought, “You won’t give up until death. Do you think that she is a young lovely girl, so you want to threaten her? This girl came from nowhere and I am afraid you can’t frighten her with only a few words. If you threaten her now, it would probably be counter-productive.”

The girl chuckled. “I always see others suffer a living death, but I don’t know what it is. I am happy that you want me to have a living death.” She suddenly grabbed the crossbow and aimed at Zhao Yuan’s throat. “Believe it or not, if you don’t tell me who you are, I will shoot your throat.”

Zhao Yuan displayed a weird smile unexpectedly and responded, “A judge won’t die. If you dare to kill me, you will never be reborn in the underworld.”

Hearing that, Yang Ning thought, “You just bragged. Is there anybody in the world who won’t die?” He just felt it was strange that Zhao Yuan said so.

“When others play mysterious, I am more curious about the truth.” With a beautiful smile, the girl put the crossbow on the ground and took out a short arrow from inside. She turned her head and called, “Big Devil, come here!”

The snake hunter who had nailed a burly man to the tree strode over and came to the girl. The girl opened the hairy clothes on his waist, and Yang Ning found that there were five or six small gourds hung on the waist of the strong man called Big Devil. The girl seemed to choose something and at last took off one small gourd. She uncovered it and put the tip of the short arrow in the gourd before stirring it. Then she cautiously put the short arrow back into the crossbow and handed out the gourd without raising her head. Big Devil received the gourd and covered it. Then he hung it on his waist and concealed it with his clothes.

The girl picked up the crossbow again and looked at Zhao Yuan while smiling, like a hunter observing his prey. She looked up and down and aimed at Zhao Yuan’s left face. “I will shoot your left ear off and check if your stuff can hit accurately.”

Zhao Yuan’s expression changed all of a sudden. Before he spoke, the girl had released the arrow. With a whoosh, Zhao Yuan screamed miserably as the arrow had been shot. It passed his face and left a wound instantly on his face. The wound spread to his ear. The two were close enough, and the crossbow was forceful. The arrow penetrated Zhao Yuan’s left ear, with fresh blood falling, which was scary.

Yang Ning felt sad. He had suspected that this girl was not a kind person, and now he saw that she shot somebody else’s ear without hesitation and even smiled. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he could hardly imagine that such a lovely and pretty girl would be so cruel.

Zhao Yuan’s left ear was injured with fresh blood pouring. He felt sorrowful and cursed, “You will never be reborn. You…You will never be reborn!”

The girl checked the crossbow and pouted. “It turns out that this thing is not good.” She threw it away and took out a small bamboo tube with the size of a thumb from her, saying with a smile, “Try it.” She put one end of the bamboo tube in her mouth and aimed at Zhao Yuan’s right ear. With a puff, something was shot from the tube and penetrated his ear invisibly.

The girl clapped and laughed. “My tool is better. I know that your stuff is beautiful but useless. It looks powerful but is not useful.”

Yang Ning looked back, to see that the other snake hunter grabbed the fork with three prongs and stood five or six steps away behind him all the time. He stared at Yang Ning, as if he was afraid that the latter would run away.

Yang Ning was clear that the girl was more difficult to deal with than Zhao Yuan and his people, and he had to escape as soon as possible, but he was watched by that snake hunter and there were trees around, so he couldn’t start the Easy Travel. He wondered how to escape from these people with an unknown background from Ba Shu.

Earlier, he felt a stab of pain in the area on his neck which had been stung by the poisonous wasp, while the pain faded a lot now, but he felt itchy. He didn’t know what poison the wasp had.

Suddenly he saw that Zhao Yuan twitched dramatically all over and then rolled on the ground, shouting in a sad voice, “I am dying… Insects… Ah… Give me the antidote. Give me the antidote…” He twisted and struggled on the ground with a convulsion. Obviously he was suffering a lot.

Yang Ning thought that the girl put the arrow tip in the small gourd and there must be poison in it. After Zhao Yuan was shot by the arrow, he was poisoned.

Zhao Yuan struggled in pain, but the girl clapped and laughed happily. “Didn’t you mention the living death? This is the living death. Do you like it?” Then she turned to Yang Ning and asked, “Hey, do you think I am powerful?”

Yang Ning grabbed the Cold Blade in hand and sneered. “You are so young, but you did something so ruthless. You are vicious. Who has taught you?”

The girl showed a sweet smile, but she looked cold at once after hearing Yang Ning’s comment. She asked angrily, “Are you scolding me?”

Yang Ning replied, “I was scolding you. Did I say anything wrong?”

The girl pointed to Zhao Yuan who struggled in pain on the ground and said, “They threatened to kill you just now and I helped you. You should kneel on the ground to thank me. How dare you scold me?”

“We can deal with the hatred between us by ourselves, and it’s none of your business.” Yang Ning reached out a hand. “Give me the antidote and leave here right now. I will pretend that I have seen nothing.”

The girl blinked her clear eyes and tilted her head, looking Yang Ning up and down before speaking. “Are you insane? I helped you, but you don’t thank me. Your life and death are under my control, but you still order me. Believe it or not, I will make you become like him.”
