Chapter 96 A Snake Hunter
Yang Ning came out of the hole and his lower body was outside. Then he turned his upper body back to the room and grabbed Gu Qinghan’s shoulders to pull her out. He knew that these people set this trap not just to catch them having sex. It was not so simple and there must be a bigger conspiracy hidden behind. But the most important thing at the moment was to escape from here first.

He was afraid that he would hurt Gu Qinghan if he pulled her with strength, so he was careful. Then he heard Zhao Yuan’s voice from outside. “Your Excellency, just rest assured. As long as you do as we say, the news that you have sex tonight wouldn’t spread, and you would enjoy the glory and wealth like before.” Zhao Yuan sneered. “But if you are bumptious, and the news spreads that the heir of the Marquis of Honor has sex with his aunt Gu Qinghan, I don’t know what the consequence would be.”

Yang Ning ignored him and pulled Gu Qinghan out of the room cautiously. It was dark at night. He looked westward and found that as long as they crossed the Hongsha River, the Xia Mountain was opposite not far away. He could only go in that direction, but he didn’t know how deep the water in the Hongsha River was. He pondered for a while and prepared to carry Gu Qinghan on his back. No matter how deep the river was, he would just cross it first.

Yang Ning suddenly felt a figure flashing beside him, and he was astonished. He raised his fist and was about to hit the comer. But when he waved his fist, he withdrew it in an instant as he saw clearly that it was the ugly man with the black cloak.

The ugly man wore the clothes made of coarse material given by the people in the old house, which were old but fit for him. However, he still covered himself with that black cloak. He showed up like a ghost abruptly, which surprised Yang Ning.

Seeing Yang Ning, the ugly man didn’t look scared but grinned and reached out his hand. Before he spoke, Yang Ning said in a low voice, “Don’t say anything. Follow me to cross the river. I will find you food later.” He didn’t say more but carried Gu Qinghan on his back, walking to the river. The ugly man in the black cloak listened to Yang Ning unexpectedly and followed him.

It was late autumn, and the water in the river was icy. Gu Qinghan’s body was burning, and Yang Ning worried that if she was in the cold water, she might be unable to bear it. However, he had no choice but to go to the river water and swim to the other side of the river. The Hongsha River was not wide, but it was not narrow, and it was the biggest river in the neighborhood.

He heard that the hunters barked loudly from that side all of a sudden. He knew that he didn’t speak all the time and the other party would suspect, so he hurried to swim to the opposite bank.

He felt extremely hot originally, but when he was in the cold river water, he felt that the passion faded quickly and wondered if the aphrodisiac could be moved when he was in the water.

He hugged Gu Qinghan on his back with one hand and moved in the water with the other. Her soft and elastic body and plump breasts on his back got tight and loose as his body moved up and down.

He suddenly felt Gu Qinghan moving and then heard her feeble voice. “Ning… Ning…”

Yang Ning replied while swimming, “Aunt, I am here. Are you okay? Those guys are in the warehouse. Let’s leave here immediately.”

Gu Qinghan woke up slowly and was still confused, but when she was in the water, she regained a lot of consciousness. She looked around and found that she was on Yang Ning’s back, who was crossing the river. She thought back and knew that he had got out of the warehouse secretly in some way.

She had been drugged with the aphrodisiac and felt passionate. Although she became unconscious soon, she still remembered that she did something dissolute, so she felt ashamed and angry. Now she was on Yang Ning’s back and they clung to each other, with her soft breasts on his back. At the same time, he put one arm around her butt, which made her body tremble involuntarily, but she could do nothing.

When they reached the opposite bank, Yang Ning put down Gu Qinghan with caution but saw that the ugly man followed them, stepping forward to reach out his hand. “Food… Hungry…”

Yang Ning thought that this guy got hungry so soon and even if two pigs were given to him every day, they might not be enough. He ignored the ugly man and suddenly saw several figures on the other side of the river. Somebody shouted, “He is there. This bastard is so cunning. He has escaped unexpectedly.”

And another man yelled, “Don’t let him escape. Everybody, chase him.” Then Yang Ning saw five or six figures chase him from the other side. All of them were good at swimming and swam toward him in a mad rush.

Seeing that Gu Qinghan was shaky slightly, Yang Ning didn’t say anything but held her hand to run to the mountain. After running for only a few steps, she fell on the ground while saying “ouch”. Yang Ning knew that those people would come at any time, so he carried her without demur. Gu Qinghan was clear that she had to let him carry her as it was a state of emergency.

After running for a while, Yang Ning saw that the ugly man ran ahead far away in an instant and left him behind. He thought of something and shouted, “Food!”

This way was effective as expected. The ugly man turned around and ran back. Yang Ning stopped and said to Gu Qinghan, “Aunt, these people are prepared and determined to catch us. You leave here with him first, and I will distract them. Their target is me.”

“What are you talking about?” Gu Qinghan furrowed her brows and asked furiously, “Do you want me to leave you behind?”

Yang Ning said in a harsh voice, “Don’t argue anymore. When I am alone and don’t worry about anything, I can escape. Otherwise, neither of us can go away. The ugly man runs fast. If he takes you away, those people can’t catch up with him. The old house’s situation is unclear, and you can’t return for now. Just go back to the Gu family’s mansion. I will go there to see you after I escape.”

“Ning…” Gu Qinghan had tears in her eyes. “You go with him. Leave me alone.”

Yang Ning put Gu Qinghan on the ugly man’s back without listening to her protests. The ugly man looked confused. So Yang Ning stated, “Man, listen. She will take you to find food. Listen to her and go wherever she tells you to. She will find you much delicious food. If somebody else grabs her away, you won’t have any food.”

The ugly man was stunned and then nodded. Gu Qinghan shed tears and gritted her teeth. “Will you abandon me?”

“Aunt, there is no time to argue. Go now. Don’t worry about me. As soon as I escape, I will go to see you.” Yang Ning pointed to the south and yelled at the ugly man, “Why don’t you run?”

With Gu Qinghan on his back, the ugly man moved his legs quickly and ran away like wind. Just in the blink of an eye, he disappeared in the darkness and couldn’t be seen.

Yang Ning wanted to run to the mountain immediately but thought that if those people couldn’t see him after coming to the bank, he couldn’t distract them. He grabbed the Cold Blade in his hand, with a cold expression in his eyes, thinking, “After we enter the mountain, I will kill you one by one.”

At the moment, a man was already on the shore and saw Yang Ning in the distance, raising his hand to point to him. “Stop. Don’t go. He is there.” He ran after Yang Ning.

Yang Ning didn’t delay and turned around to run to the Xia Mountain. Soon he heard the hunters’ barks from behind. He looked back, to see six or seven people chasing him. Somebody ran with two hunting dogs.

Yang Ning ran rapidly to the mountain. There were many trees on the Xia Mountain, with withered vines and wild grass everywhere. The barks didn’t stop behind him, and those people were at his heels.

When he went to the mountain, it was more difficult to walk. Yang Ning was clear that the people lived near the mountain depended on the mountain. The Xia Mountain was ten to fifteen kilometers wide, not a small mountain. He didn’t know if there were hunters hunting frequently on the mountain. Some hunters would set traps inside in order to hunt prey, and he had to be careful.

When he went deep into the forest, it was dark around and he could hardly find a way. He had to weave his way through the forest. At first, he could hear those hunters’ barks from behind, but soon he could hear nothing. He thought that he might not have shaken them off. Probably they chased him on the mountain and were afraid that the barks would reveal their location, so they sealed the dogs’ mouths.

These people came from somewhere unknown, but they were not kind people.

It was cold and quiet at night. Yang Ning didn’t know which part of the mountain he was. Suddenly he heard some sounds in the front and wondered if those guys were ahead of him. He dodged nimbly behind a big tree. With his head popping out, he saw a black figure in the front not far away. The figure was tall and strong, with his back to Yang Ning. He had something in his hand and inserted it into the grass.

Yang Ning frowned and didn’t know what that man was doing. Then he saw that man raise the stuff in his hand abruptly, and it turned out to be a steel fork. He indistinctly found a long thing twisting on the steel fork. So he checked it carefully, to see that it was a big snake which was as fat as an arm. The snake’s body was penetrated by the steel fork but it still tried its best to twist and coil. While that man reached out his hand and grabbed the snake’s head skillfully.

Yang Ning had thought that the big snake couldn’t be controlled so soon, but after that man grabbed the snake’s head, it drooped feebly and stopped struggling in an instant.

That man nailed the big snake to the ground with the steel fork and then turned around to take out a leather bag. Afterward, he took a machete off his waist and squatted down. He raised his hand and the machete fell, while the snake’s head was cut off. Then he cut the snake into several parts. Every time he cut one part, he would throw it into the leather bag later.

Yang Ning wondered if this was a snake hunter who specially entered the mountain.

At the moment, he heard low sounds from the left side not far away. He didn’t know if those people caught up with him or other people were here. He hid in the shadow of the big tree and held his breath. However, the snake hunter suddenly raised his head and looked in the direction of the sounds. Then he took off the steel fork and squatted to hide behind the brushwood secretly.

Yang Ning saw a man dressed in sportswear walking out from behind with a steel saber. The man bent and looked cautious. At a glance, Yang Ning knew that this man was one of the people who were chasing him. The man wore sportswear, the same as the clothes of the burly men he had seen in Luwang Village last time.

That day, Steward Luo led several burly men to demand grain in Luwang Village, and they were also dressed like this.

That man looked around and walked a few steps forward. Suddenly he raised his nose and sniffed. Soon he lowered his head and found the snake whose large part was cut by the snake hunter and the leather bag next to it. He approached it and opened that bag with his saber. Then he heard a low roar and saw the snake hunter rush to him from behind the brushwood. Before the hunter arrived, he had stabbed the burly man with his steel fork.

Yang Ning was astonished to see everything, thinking that this snake hunter was so cruel. The hunter might have never seen the burly man, but he would kill the latter at one blow.

Obviously the burly man didn’t expect that somebody was hiding behind the brushwood. The snake hunter came out all of a sudden like an ape. Before the burly man could make a sound, the steel fork had hit his neck and the middle one of three prongs on the steel tool had penetrated his throat. Seeing the ruthless snake hunter’s ferocious look, Yang Ning felt nervous.
