A Clash of Gods - Chapter 59
Chapter 59 King Shu’s Heir
Yang Ning looked at the voice source and found a group of servants wearing square caps and blue clothes rushing over, with twenty or thirty men. They all looked ferocious, and several in the front were dressed in grey clothes, with great momentum.
The man in the front was strong and tall, with thick, powerful back and shoulders, grabbing the knife on his waist. Next to him, a young manservant in black pointed at the young man in yellow. “It’s him. This guy almost hurt Young Master.”
“Whoosh!”
The man put out the knife and waved it. “Bastard, how dare you? You are lawless. Surround them. Don’t let anyone escape.”
The servants from the government rushed over like wolves and surrounded the young man in yellow and his followers in an instant. The attendants with white headcloths looked serious and had machetes in hands, guarding the young man.
The strong man ran to the woman first. She held the child and saw the man coming, seeming to find the savior. Before she spoke, the man asked, “Madam, is Young Master all right? Don’t worry. If somebody dares to lay a finger on you, I will kill his family.”
He used remarkably coarse expressions, and the woman wrinkled her beautiful brows. “Ding is fine, but… but the savior was hurt.”
“The savior?” The strong man was surprised.
The madam looked at Yang Ning. “This is the savior. If it weren’t for him, Ding… Ding might have…” She had tears in her eyes. When she mentioned that, she still felt scared and tears fell.
The man turned to Yang Ning and stepped forward without hesitation, saluting. “Savior, my name is Lei Yonghu. Please accept my respect.” Then he was going to kneel down. Yang Ning stopped him in a hurry and smiled. “You are welcome. It’s normal to help somebody in need. Anybody with conscience wouldn’t look on.”
In the beginning, he saw a group of malicious-looking people rushing over and didn’t understand what was going on, so he was astonished. Now he realized that these people came to help that woman. Since they had brought the servants in the government, they had a powerful background in the capital apparently. He saved the child just because he couldn’t stand by and watch somebody being killed. Even if the child was a beggar, he would help him, but unexpectedly, he had saved a young master.
There were many high officials and dignitaries in the capital, and he wasn’t surprised that he saved a child by accident who was from a powerful family.
But this strong man could distinguish kindness and hatred clearly and was straightforward at first glance. Yang Ning liked him.
Lei Yonghu said, “I will thank you later, Savior. I am going to deal with the lawless evil-doers first.” He turned his head and found that Mr. Ximen in black was looking at him. He checked Mr. Ximen’s clothes carefully and soon his face darkened. “Are you on that guy’s side?”
The man in black looked calm and nodded. “Right. Sir, why did you bring so many people?”
“Why?” Lei Yonghu responded crossly. “Are you blind? You almost hurt our young master, but you act as if nothing has happened. If I don’t teach you a lesson, you won’t remember it.” He stretched out his hand, trying to attack Mr. Ximen’s chest.
He was tall and big and much taller than Mr. Ximen. And he started fighting quickly, but Mr. Ximen didn’t move and let him grab the garment in front of his chest, with coldness in his eyes.
Lei Yonghu grasped the garment in front of Mr. Ximen’s chest and pulled hard. He thought with his strength, he could easily pull this inconspicuous middle-aged man in black to the ground and frustrate that young man in yellow by displaying his power before teaching the chief criminal a lesson.
Unexpectedly, he pulled hard but Mr. Ximen was unmoved like a stone.
Lei Yonghu looked astonished and exerted more strength to pull. Mr. Ximen stood still, and Lei Yonghu got furious. Under so many people’s eyes, if he couldn’t handle such an invisible man, he would be embarrassed. He put his force into his hand and pulled with all his strength. With a hiss, he had torn a cloth from Mr. Ximen’s garment.
Lei Yonghu was stunned and finally realized that this man in front of him looked ordinary but hid his strength.
“Yo, you are capable.” Lei Yonghu looked him up and down. “Step aside. By the way, bloke, come here…” He raised his hand and pointed at the young man in yellow who was encircled.
The young man in yellow had a terrible-looking expression and sneered. He ignored Lei Yonghu and got on the horse’s back. Shaking the rein, he pressed the horse’s stomach with both legs and urged it to go.
His fine horse was extraordinary. It hissed and rushed ahead, dashing to a servant from the government who stood in the front.
The servant paled in fright. Fortunately he reacted quickly. Regardless of anything else, he dodged to the side, and the fine horse rushed out of the crowd.
Obviously, the young man in yellow thought the situation got complicated and he didn’t want to stay here anymore. He just wanted to get free from trouble and leave.
Seeing that the young man in yellow suddenly urged the horse to go regardless of anything, the onlookers screamed and dodged. The young man was about to leave on horseback, but a figure jumped out like a leopard and ran like a monkey. Then all people heard the young man’s shriek, and he was dragged off the horse’s back. That fine horse ran forward for a while before stopping.
Yang Ning found that the young man in yellow tried to run away, so he wouldn’t let him go.
In order to save that child, he had blood on his forehead and everything was brought by the young man in yellow. If the young man was let go today, Yang Ning felt unhappy.
When the young man in yellow rushed out of the circle, Yang Ning had jumped up quickly. Then he dragged the young man off the horse’s back. When they both fell on the ground, Yang Ning let the young man fall first, and he fell on him to avoid being injured.
After the young man in yellow fell on the ground, he looked in pain. Watching the young man falling, Mr. Ximen was astonished and rushed over like a ghost. He grabbed Yang Ning’s shoulder and then pulled him lightly. Yang Ning felt himself flying over and heard a scream “Be careful”, which seemed to be a female voice. But he couldn’t overthink, and his butt fell on the ground first. He was thrown by Mr. Ximen to somewhere several miles away.
Mr. Ximen controlled his strength perfectly. Although Yang Ning was thrown away, his butt fell, and he just felt a little pain. There was nothing wrong with other parts in his body.
Yang Ning wasn’t wounded, but he was stunned. After what happened, he knew that Mr. Ximen who looked ordinary was a martial arts master with hidden strength.
He was curious about the young man and Mr. Ximen’s background. Then he thought that when he was thrown away, a female voice with concern told him to be careful. He couldn’t help but look at the voice source, to find that there was a group of people over there, with five or six women. He couldn’t find who had reminded him.
Yuan Rong had come in haste and helped up Yang Ning, asking, “Brother, are you okay?”
Yang Ning just furrowed his brows. Yuan Rong found that Yang Ning was not injured and then whispered in his ear, “Stop here. Don’t make a big thing of this matter. That… That man seems to be King Shu’s heir.”
“What?” Yang Ning was shocked and thought it turned out that Yuan Rong had recognized that young man.
Yuan Rong explained in a low voice, “King Shu is the only king in our country who is not from the royal family, and even the imperial court would tolerate him. The heir of King Shu… we’d better not provoke him.”
Yang Ning had found earlier that Yuan Rong tried to shrink back and now understood that he cowered because he had known the young man’s identity. Yuan Rong was the young master from the family of the Minister of Rites, but he feared King Shu so much. So King Shu must be a big shot.
But noticing that Yang Ning suffered losses, Lei Yonghu rushed over, shouting, “Bastard, how dare you hurt others…” Although he knew that Mr. Ximen had concealed his ability, he didn’t look frightened. He rushed forward and waved his knife, trying to chop Mr. Ximen. But he didn’t want to kill him and just chopped with the back of the knife. And he didn’t cut his head but aimed at his shoulder.
Mr. Ximen helped up the young man in yellow with one hand to sit, and without looking back, he had a stone between two fingers of his other hand from nowhere. He flicked one finger gently and the stone flew away, which hit Lei Yonghu’s knee with a poof. Lei Yonghu shouted “Ouch” and staggered. He knelt down and couldn’t move a bit.
Mr. Ximen helped the young man get up and looked cold. He was not as gentle as before and said indifferently, “Don’t go too far whatever you do. Forgive others if you can. If you cross the line, it won’t do good to yourself or others.” He glanced at Yang Ning, with a cold expression in his eyes. “It’s good for a young man to be warm-blooded, but if you lose your mind, you might be unwise.”
Without saying more, he tried to help the young man in yellow get on the horse’s back. However, the young man looked resentful and pointed at Yang Ning. “Bloke, remember. I won’t let it pass.”
Yang Ning had stood up and sneered. “Right. This matter won’t be let go. You want to go now, but you can’t.” He walked to the young man in yellow step by step.
After witnessing Mr. Ximen’s capability, the onlookers knew that this man couldn’t be offended and thought that Yang Ning wouldn’t dare to pester them as he had been thrown away easily, but he still had the nerve to go to them. Somebody couldn’t help but admire him, while somebody guessed that Yang Ning was ignorant and might get himself in trouble.
“What the hell do you want?” Apparently, Mr. Ximen didn’t expect Yang Ning to be so difficult to handle. He frowned.
Yang Ning walked to Mr. Ximen, only two steps away from him and pointed at the young man in yellow. “I said he should apologize to everybody present he had hurt. Otherwise, he can’t go.”
“What if we insist on going?” Mr. Ximen asked nonchalantly. “Do you think you are able to stop us?”
At the moment, a light flashed in the air. Then with a thud, something fell in front of the young man’s horse. All people looked at it carefully and found that a steel knife was inserted into the bluestone ground in front of the horse. The blade tip penetrated the ground, and the blade was still shaking.
