Chapter 210 The Secret Gift

The dark-skinned big guy had cold sweat on his forehead. This man was really strong and endured the pain, looking at Qi Ning. Then he suddenly roared like a beast and rushed to Qi Ning.

The big guy rushed over with all strength like a fierce tiger. Qi Ning knew that he couldn’t confront the tough with toughness as this man had great force, so he strode with his left foot from the left front and dodged effortlessly like a ghost.

Although this big guy had practiced for a few years with a foundation, facing the mysterious footwork, the Easy Travel, he didn’t have a chance. When Qi Ning dodged successfully, he flashed and came to the back of the big guy. In front of the big guy, he certainly didn’t need to walk the steps of the Easy Travel from beginning to end. He turned back and raised his foot, kicking the big guy’s butt hard.

The big guy was rushing forward and couldn’t stop himself. After Qi Ning kicked him, it was like adding fuel to the flames. The big guy staggered forward for several steps and was about to rush down the stage. The people under the stage saw that and turned pale with fear, while some people exclaimed. Fortunately, the big guy steadied himself with the last step.

All people sighed with relief, and the big guy turned around, to see that Qi Ning was close at hand, so he was astonished. Before the big guy reacted, Qi Ning laughed and raised his leg, kicking the opponent’s belly. The big guy couldn’t stand steadily anymore but leaned backward, falling from the stage.

The people under the stage saw that the big guy managed to stop, so they felt lucky, yet before they heaved a sigh of relief, the big guy fell unexpectedly, and then it was a scene of chaos, while all people huddled, unable to dodge. The big guy fell and pressed three or four people. Then many people cried like wolves.

Qi Ning walked to the edge of the stage and shouted at the big guy who fell from it, sighing, “I said that I wouldn’t fight, but you insisted on asking me to. Can you blame me?”

Ximen Zhanying’s lips moved, yet she couldn’t make a sound.

Qi Ning defeated the big guy with three moves and made him fall from the stage, which was a result that she had never expected.

From beginning to end, she saw clearly that the big guy really belittled Qi Ning, while Qi Ning took him by surprise and broke his arm in a flash, so the big guy was irritated. Then Qi Ning dodged with the weird footwork easily and took the opportunity to kick the big guy down the stage.

It appeared that he won without effort in the whole process.

However, Ximen Zhanying could see that if the big guy didn’t underestimate the opponent, or Qi Ning didn’t take actions suddenly, or he didn’t start the weird footwork abruptly, Qi Ning couldn’t beat the big guy down the stage so easily, but she admitted that Qi Ning’s movement of breaking the arm was neat and his footwork to dodge was quite brilliant.

She had thought that she could embarrass Qi Ning this time, yet it made him show his power unexpectedly. When she was surprised, she knew that this young Marquis of Honor was not ignorant or incompetent as she guessed, and at least his martial skills were really awesome.

Duan Canghai glanced at Ximen Zhanying and smiled. “Marquis has practiced martial arts hard since childhood and his magical skills are invincible, but he has never shown off in front of others. Miss Ximen, if he is not forced, you can’t see his masterstroke.”

Ximen Zhanying felt embarrassed yet still looked calm. She felt that Qi Ning concealed his strength and couldn’t be seen through easily.

Qi Ning straightened his clothes and wanted to jump off the stage, while he heard the footsteps from behind. He turned around, to see that the three old men who supervised stood behind him, and the three stared at him in unison. They didn’t say anything but looked at Qi Ning from head to foot.

“What does it mean?

“Do I have something special that attracts these old men?”

Although Qi Ning admitted that he was attractive, he didn’t want to attract some old men. He coughed and then asked, “What…are you looking at?”

The three old men looked at one another and then looked Qi Ning up and down. Each of them showed a smile, but the expression in their eyes made him uncomfortable, as if they watched a monkey in a zoo. Qi Ning said with a frown, “If you don’t speak, I am going. Goodbye.”

As soon as he finished his words, two old men grabbed his arms on both sides unexpectedly. The old guys were in their sixties, but they moved quickly. Qi Ning was stunned and wanted to shake them off, yet he was afraid that if he put more strength, the two old men would lie on the floor and blackmail him, so he had to say, “What are you going to do? Let me go now. I respect you as you are old, but don’t act like rascals.”

“Young Master, what’s your family name?” The old man in the middle smiled at Qi Ning. “Don’t be afraid. We won’t do anything to you. Three o’ clock has passed, and you are the last one standing on the stage, so you are the final winner of this competition.”

“Ah?” Qi Ning finally realized that he won the competition when he didn’t know, even though he just wanted to teach the domineering big guy a lesson.

But it was not something bad. Wouldn’t the final winner get one hundred taels of silver? Although it was a small amount of money, it was a fortune.

“This young master looks handsome with powerful martial skills. He is brave, unrestrained and smart with an impressive presence. He is the champion worthy of the title.” The old man had a ready tongue and spoke out a lot of words, seeming to have read some books. Although he was old, he said forcefully, “My family name is Tian, the butler of the Tian Family’s Medicine Shop. Please call me Butler Tian.”

“Young Master, our madam set up an arena in order to find a young and handsome man like you.” Butler Tian smiled. “We have our duties. To be frank with you, we are afraid that you will run away.”

“What do you want to do?”

“Somebody!” Butler Tian looked back and winked. A servant dressed in cyan clothes with a hat came over and held a tray with some silver ingots, one hundred taels on it. Under the sunset, the silver ingots were shining. Butler Tian didn’t give the silver to Qi Ning in a hurry but cupped his hands in front of the crowd, saying, “Everybody, you have seen that, this…Oh, Young Master, what’s your family name?”

“Qi!”

“Right. All of you have seen that Master Qi has powerful martial skills and won at last. Do you have objections?” Butler Tian tried hard to raise his voice.

All people had seen Qi Ning beat the dark-skinned big guy down the stage after three movements. When they were shocked, they knew that Qi Ning was more powerful than the big guy obviously, so somebody shouted, “He is worthy of the title. Butler Tian, hurry up and take this young master to see your madam.”

The heir of the Marquis of Honor was always slow in thought. In order to take care of him, Gu Qinghan didn’t let him go out of the mansion randomly. Even if he went out, he would be in a carriage and wouldn’t show his face easily, so although this street was not far away from the mansion of the Marquis of Honor, nobody knew that this Master Qi standing on the stage was the current Marquis of Honor.

Moreover, there were many people with the family name Qi, so none of them thought of the Marquis of Honor when they were excited.

Butler Tian said with a big smile, “Since all of you said that, it must be no problem.” He winked at the servant next to him, and the latter gave the tray with the silver ingots on it to Qi Ning. Qi Ning didn’t refuse but held the silver ingots in his hand. Then he threw them to Duan Canghai next to the stage. “Keep them first.”

Although Duan Canghai thought that it was improper, nobody would refuse money, and the silver wasn’t stolen or robbed, so he put them away.

Ximen Zhanying had a completely new appraisal of Qi Ning, yet she didn’t change her attitude toward him at once. Seeing that Qi Ning accepted it, she murmured, “You are mercenary and sensual…” Her voice was low, and few people could hear it.

When they walked on the way, Qi Ning followed her and looked at her sneakily, which was found by Ximen Zhanying, so she thought that this bad man was sensual. Now she saw that he accepted the silver with a smile, and he was certainly mercenary.

“Master Qi, I have sent somebody to inform Madam quickly. Let’s go to see her now.” Butler Tian laughed. “Do you have any other requests?”

“Go to see Madam?” Qi Ning looked up at the sky and feared that Gu Qinghan would worry about him if he couldn’t return home after dark. He asked, “Butler Tian, I see your madam in order to get the secret gift, right?”

“Right. Master Qi, you are quite smart,” Butler Tian answered. “Let’s go now.” Then he ordered, “Somebody, tear down the stage.”

“Wait a moment,” Qi Ning expressed. “Butler Tian, I want to ask what the secret gift is. If it’s common, I think that I don’t need to go. I have something to do at home, so I have to go back and do it.”

There were still many people left under the stage. The people in the front heard Qi Ning’s question and asked, “Right, Master Qi has won, and the competition is over. Butler Tian, what secret gift did your madam prepare? Why not tell us now?”

“Yes. We have been waiting for three days and want to know what the secret gift is. It’s time to reveal it. Don’t need to keep us in suspense anymore.”

Butler Tian cupped his hands. “Everybody, don’t be anxious. We set up an arena and said in advance that the final winner could be rewarded with one hundred taels of silver and a secret gift prepared by our madam. Since it’s a secret gift, we can’t reveal it to the public now, and to be honest, we don’t know what the secret gift is. It’s in Madam’s hands. We will know it only after we see her. I am so sorry.”

Many people complained under the stage.

“Master Qi, our mansion is at the back and we will reach it after turning a corner.” Seeing that Qi Ning looked hesitant, Butler Tian said hurriedly, “Madam told us to invite the champion to the mansion after the competition was over and said that the secret gift was priceless, which was the real award for the winner of the competition. It won’t disappoint you.”

The award of only one hundred taels of silver after the competition was too unpresentable, and Qi Ning thought that Mrs. Tian was stingy. Even if there was a secret gift, it must not be valuable.

However, after hearing Butler Tian’s words, Qi Ning wondered if that secret gift was really something nice, so he was curious. Since the sun hadn’t set, and the Tian family’s mansion was nearby, he hesitated and thought that it would be fine even if he went to have a look. Suddenly he found that Ximen Zhanying was looking at him, and he thought that this woman was worried that he would wander outside instead of returning home. He smiled at her and then nodded. “Fine. I will go with you. Don’t disappoint me.”

Ximen Zhanying was afraid that Qi Ning would waste time outside. Hearing him agree to go to the Tian family’s mansion, she gritted her teeth and glared at Qi Ning.

Some people would clean up the stage, and the other two old men would be here to command them to handle it, while Butler Tian led two servants and took Qi Ning to the Tian family’s mansion. Duan Canghai naturally followed them. Although Ximen Zhanying was furious, she didn’t dare to leave but had to follow them resentfully because she hadn’t sent Qi Ning back home.

Most people had scattered, while dozens of people wanted to look on and followed them to the Tian family’s mansion.
