Nine Evolutions of the True Spirit - Chapter 451
Chapter 451 – Ice Wyrm Bead
The young Monster cultivator immediately recognized the snake trio, causing him to be distracted. Lu Ping acted decisively and swung the water whip at the back of the Monster cultivator.
The young Monster cultivator felt a dangerous presence locking onto him before he could recover from the shock of the snake trio. He wanted to evade the attack, but it was too late.
Bam!
A loud noise sounded, followed by an indescribable pain that seeped into his bones. The whip attack shattered Ao Wu-Shuang’s protective aegis energy. If it weren’t for Monsters’ having innately powerful bodies, Lu Ping’s whip attack would have left him crippled.
Enduring the immense pain, Ao Wu-Shuang leaped forward. Using the chance to turn around, he shouted, “Who are–”
Before he could finish his question, Lu Ping’s second attack had already been launched. Ao Wu-Shuang’s expression twisted, and he hurriedly conjured an ice wall between him and Lu Ping.
Bam!
Another loud explosion occurred as the ice wall shattered. The ice wall was sent flying backward, ramming into Ao Wu-Shuang and sending him back.
The Monster guards acted immediately. They hurriedly charged at Lu Ping, wanting to assist Ao Wu-Shuang. However, they didn’t see the evil grin on Lu Ping’s face.
The three Core-Forging Realm Monster cultivators were the first to reach Lu Ping, shielding Ao Wu-Shuang behind them. The next thing they saw was Lu Ping raising his hands into the air and letting out a battle cry.
Following this, a massive white lotus appeared. A terrifying pressure landed on the shoulders of the Monsters around him.
The white lotus spun above peacefully. Each petal glimmered brightly with mysterious inscriptions.
“That’s a Human cultivator! Kill him!” Ao Wu-Shuang shouted angrily.
The expressions of the Monster cultivators darkened. The two mid-Core-Forging Realm cultivators reacted first. They charged forward and lunged at Lu Ping at lightning speeds.
“Halt,” Lu Ping softly whispered with a smile.
The rotating white lotus vibrated and spat out twelve bright pearls that landed in different areas of the valley. As Lu Ping chanted a spell, the water in the region was restrained by an invisible power, immobilizing the monster cultivators. The Monster cultivators charging at Lu Ping tried to free themselves, hurriedly channeling energy through their bodies, but none of them could succeed.
Lu Ping was quite satisfied with the power of his Origin Mystic Tool. It was far stronger than before, especially after using the ninth-grade white jade lotus as his origin formation and perfecting the Nascent Primordial Stars.
Before using the white jade lotus as his core formation, the power of the Nascent Primordial Stars was still powerful. However, every time Lu Ping used it, he had to expend a lot of divine revelation to construct a formation within the range of the Nascent Primordial Stars to control the Nascent Primordial Chart. Although its power was spectacular, the consumption of divine revelation and energy was unbearable.
Now that he had the ninth-grade white jade lotus as his core formation, Lu Ping only needed to spend minimal divine revelation and energy to activate the formation and easily control the Nascent Primordial Chart. While the consumption rate compared to others was still worlds apart, Lu Ping had an immense energy and divine revelation capacity.
After five years of seclusion on Huang Li Island and a year of cultivation in the Land of Heritage, Lu Ping finally managed to engrave the fourth Mystical Inscription on the Nascent Primordial Stars, raising it to a Spirit Emerging Mystic Treasure. However, the Ninth-Grade White Lotus Formation still only had three Mystical Inscriptions, making it difficult to upgrade the formation. Lu Ping did not currently have any compatible Mystical Inscriptions.
Nevertheless, Lu Ping’s ninth-grade white jade lotus was an actual flower king that had been nurtured for 9,000 years. Its quality was even higher than his Nascent Primordial Stars, so although it was not a Spirit Emerging Mystic Treasure, its power was not inferior.
As soon as Lu Ping’s Origin Mystic Tool emerged, it immediately imprisoned four cultivators in the mid-Core Forging Realm, intimidating the Monsters cultivators standing further behind. Those who were quick to realize the direness of the situation immediately turned around and attempted to flee. However, they were caught by the Howling Gale Whip and sliced in half at the waist by the Dominus Halberd.
Lu Ping swung his water whip at the two Monster cultivators in front of him who were unable to free themselves. They wanted to scream but they couldn’t even control their mouths. The next thing they felt was their vision turning upside down before eternal darkness engulfed their senses and consciousness.
Ao Wu-Shuang, who was also imprisoned, witnessed his two subordinates being easily killed. Fear set in as he started trembling vigorously. A fierce light flashed in his eyes, as a cold white bead emerged out of nowhere. A strange chill swept over, causing the water around him to freeze.
Ao Wu-Shuang conjured a pair of ice sabers and hacked the ice into pieces, allowing him to break free.
However, Ao Wu-Shuang had already been scared by Lu Ping’s method of killing two subordinates who had similar cultivation levels to his own. He no longer had the courage to fight against Lu Ping. After breaking free, he turned around and fled.
“That’s the Ice Wyrm Bead! Father, we must not let him escape!” Lu Ling’er shouted to Lu Ping and leaped forward, trying to stop Ao Wu-Shuang.
However, Ao Wu-Shuang was not someone that she could defeat. As a strong Core Forging Realm cultivator, Ao Wu-Shuang remained unrivaled among those at the same level. He only tasted defeat in Lu Ping’s hands because he was caught off-guard, allowing Lu Ping to sneak up on him and land two near-fatal blows. The power of the Nascent Primordial Stars also crumbled his remaining courage and traumatized him. If it weren’t for his Ice Wyrm Bead, he would have died at Lu Ping’s hands.
Ao Wu-Shuang had nothing but escaping in his mind. Even so, he remained beyond Lu Ling’er’s capabilities. She might be an Emerald Sea Spirit Snake, but Ao Wu-Shuang was no weakling.
Lu Ping heard Lu Linger’s shout and was about to take action to stop Ao Wu-Shuang from escaping. However, the remaining mid-Core Forging Realm cultivator had also broken free. In order to create an opening for Ao Wu-Shuang to escape, he charged at Lu Ping without hesitation, despite knowing that it would cost him his life.
Left with no choice, Lu Ping swung the water whip around in front of him, forming a water whirlpool. He could not recklessly make a move after seeing the power displayed by the incoming attacker.
When the Monster cultivator’s sword pierced the water wall in front of Lu Ping, he felt that his sword entered a huge vortex as it began to rotate involuntarily. No matter how much he tried, the Monster cultivator could not regain control of his flying sword.
Lu Ping was waiting and was ready to kill his opponent. However, Lu Ping’s expression suddenly changed. A blue light flashed in his chest, followed by a tattered small flag that appeared on top of his head. A cracking sound emerged as the Monster cultivator sword exploded into pieces. The scattered fragments of the sword flew in the air while the water whip lost its agility and momentum, rendering it unable to continue fending off the incoming attack. As a result, the vortex collapsed. However, the broken flag above Lu Ping’s head started emitting a pitch-black ray that froze the shrapnel in the air.
Lu Ping let out a grin. He had not expected to be almost hurt by the Monster cultivator’s trick. Instead of picking up the water whip, he shot a cold glance at the Monster cultivator approaching him.
A red light appeared in the Monster cultivator’s chest before spreading like a virus and dying him red.
The Monster cultivator was planning to self-detonate his Golden Core to take Lu Ping down with him!
Lu Ping coldly said, “Be gone!”
The Monster cultivator felt a chill in his chest and his body suddenly lost all its strength. When he lowered his head, he found a bowl-sized hole in his chest. The Monster cultivator looked at Lu Ping in despair and fell to the ground as all his senses slowly faded.
In the next moment, a scream sounded out. Ao Wu-Shuang, who was fleeing for his life, landed a blow on Lu Ling’er and sent her flying.
Lu Qing and Lu Hai, who were fending off the other Monster cultivators, cried out and ignored their opponents, running toward where Lu Linger had fallen.
Lu Ping was furious. With a snort, he immediately used his flying technique and appeared behind Ao Wu Shuang. Ao Wu Shuang gritted his teeth and endured the pain in his consciousness, which felt like it was being pricked with a needle and slashed with a knife. He tried to fly away but he found that the seawater around him had trapped him once again.
An enraged Lu Ping chanted a spell, causing his voice to rumble in Ao Wu-Shuang’s mind. Ao Wu-Shuang cried out in pain, heavily crippling his movement speed. Lu Ping cast another spell that allowed him to quickly close the gap.
Seeing that, Ao Wu-Shuang endured the pain and gathered all his strength to cast a spell to break free from the dangerous situation. Yet, to his horror, he found the water around him freezing.
Ao Wu Shuang’s heart sank as he realized that he could no longer escape. He shouted, “You can’t kill me! My father is Ao Yu, the patriarch of the Ice Wyrm Clan. I am the only heir of the Ice Wyrm Clan. If you kill me, not only will my father hunt you down, but the entire North Sea Monster clan will be after you!”
Before Ao Wu Shuang could finish speaking, a bone-chilling voice came from behind him, “Scatter!
A bright pearl flew across the water and shot toward Ao Wu-Shuang, but it was quickly blocked by the Ice Wyrm Bead.
Before Ao Wu-Shuang could rejoice in escaping death, an enormous pain overwhelmed him as he was torn apart by the Nascent Primordial Stars.
The icy pearl fell to the ground as the power controlling it was no more.
