Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Accommodating the Guest, Can ‘t be Wrong, Right?

Since she had offered to treat him, she should let him order, right?
After all, the host should accommodate the guest’s needs, right?
Dan Hanjie looked at her, a glint of mischief in his eyes. He picked up the menu without sparing it a glance, and set it aside.
With a wave of his hand, Yao went outside. Soon, the restaurant manager came over.
“Are you sure you want me to order?” Dan Hanjie cast a meaningful glance at Qin Youxuan.
“Don’t worry about it. I’m not picky.” Qin Youxuan generously nodded her head, thinking he was worried about her dietary preferences, and quickly reassured him to order whatever he desired.
Dan Hanjie smirked, his eyes gleaming wickedly. He tapped on the table, then rattled off a string of dishes.
‘ By the end of it, Qin Youxuan felt like a deer in the headlights.
There were only two of them, three including his assistant. Why did it feel like he was ordering for a full-blown banquet?
And why did all the dishes he ordered sound so unfamiliar to her?
She had just looked through the menu, none of the dishes he ordered were on the list…
Qin Youxuan looked at the restaurant manager in confusion, expecting him to apologize and tell Dan Hanjie that they didn’t have the dishes he ordered.
Against her expectations, the manager didn’t interrupt Dan Hanjie at all. Instead, he kept bowing and nodding to Hanjie, scribbling down the names of the dishes, completely oblivious to Qin Youxuan’s stupefaction.
“Alright, let’s start with these.”
‘ Qin Youxuan lost her voice.
He ordered enough food for ten people. What did he mean by ‘start with these’?
What else did he want to eat?!
“Yes, Mr. Jie, please wait a moment. I will instruct the chefs to begin preparations immediately.” The manager replied with the utmost respect before leaving.
“Are you sure you want to order that much? There’s no way we three could finish all of it!” Qin Youxuan couldn’t help but protest as soon as the manager left the room.
Having just returned to the room, Yao heard her and politely corrected her, “Miss Qin, it’s just you and Mr. Jie. I’ve already eaten.”
“Just the two of us?!” Qin Youxuan’s eyes widened in shock. She stared at her own two fingers.
You would need two pigs to finish all this food!
“Who said I was going to finish all this?” Dan Hanjie glanced at her casually, picking up a napkin and elegantly draping it over his legs.
“If you’re not going to finish it, why did you order so much?” Qin Youxuan exclaimed.
Even though she could afford it, wasting money was not something she could accept!
That was her hard-earned money…
“Miss Qin, Mr. Jie has already shown much restraint,” Yao commented from the sidelines, overhearing her complaint.
Qin Youxuan was completely deflated.
If this was him showing restraint, then what would it be like when he didn’t…
Qin Youxuan shuddered at the thought. Too horrifying!
She swore to herself never to dine with such capitalist exploiters again for fear of indigestion.
With a sigh, Qin Youxuan picked up a napkin and draped it over her own legs.
It was not until the dishes Dan Hanjie ordered began to arrive one by one did she realize that her premonition was spot on.
He didn’t seem to order a banquet, he really ordered a full-fledged banquet!
The quality of the dishes indicated that they were made in a private kitchen. Not to mention, many of them were special dishes not available on the menu that she had never seen before.
How much was this meal going to cost her?
Qin Youxuan’s grip tightened around her cutlery. She gulped unconsciously.
Upon seeing Dan Hanjie opened his mouth, she quickly turned to the waiter, “We have enough dishes, no need to order more..”
