21st century Goguryeo - Chapter 53
Chapter 53: Book 3 Chapter 1-2 The Sun Rising from the West: Miracle of the Han river

Choongbuk Chungju 17th Fighter Wing underground research facility.
An emergency meeting was being held with all head researchers and their superiors in the second-floor conference room under Namgoong-won’s request.
Three items were on the docket for the meeting consisting of the Transparent Concealment System, Shield Shielding System, and an Anti-gravity Control System. They were talking about how to commercialize the cloaking function Namgoong-won saw first hand, with each researcher making suggestions based on what technology they had available.
“This is truly amazing. Looking at it with this data, the technological structure is simple. Actual commercialization and application don’t seem hard!” The head researcher, Na Joo-won from the X-5 lab, continued making exclamations.
“That is true, but it seems cloaking over a long time would be difficult with the current power output of our plasma superprotonic generator or engines.” The head researcher, Han Hyung-gook, who was in charge of developing the plasma superprotonic generator spoke in an apologetic tone.
“Well, you can just develop a better superprotonic generator than the current one you developed, Han.”
“Is that our conclusion?” The half-joking and serious tone of head researcher Na Yeon-hee filled the conference room with laughter.
“If this new technology could be applied to fighter jets, battleships, missiles, etc., in a short period, then those weapons would evolve strategically in multiple stages.” Since he could speak frankly about the applicability of new technologies despite not having professional scientific knowledge Namgoong-won chimed in with an excited look on his face.
“Yes. As Namgoong has said, this will be an important piece of technology for its applicability in military weaponry. So which lab will start development on the Transparent Concealment System?” When Dr. Kim Su-jin, who was leading the meeting, looked at the various researchers and spoke, a moment of silence fell. After a moment, a researcher seated in the farthest left corner raised his hand and all eyes fell on him.
“Our lab will work on it. We have just finished developing the main project and now is working on secondary application research so we can start development with our researchers.”
It was head researcher Lee Hyun from the X-3 lab who developed the supersonic light communication system.
“That’s a relief. Then we will decide on X-3 lab to take on the cloaking invisibility system project. Please give it your all, Lee Hyun. Now! Why don’t we talk about the Shield Shielding System?”
The meeting finished at 1:00 a.m. During the whole meeting, many opinions were exchanged all surrounding the three new technological ideas.

TCS: Transparent Concealment System

A system that splits visible light into hundreds of thousands of pieces to surpass the visual capabilities of humans to cloak a subject.

SSS: Shield Shielding System

An extreme shielding system made of how powered plasma particles that can’t be penetrated with any physical attack from human-made weaponry, except a nuclear bomb. Soon, Korea would be able to create a Shielding System that could be operated for a short period since it required high power plasma energy to produce a transparent shield. This system would be equipped and commercialized in Korea’s next-generation fighter jets and KDX-4 Hocula battleships.

ACS: Anti-gravity Control System

The Anti-gravity Control System didn’t use power that went against gravity or blocked it out or controlled it, instead, it was the reason alien spacecrafts could sporadically maneuver in Earth’s atmosphere at high speeds. Shortly, Korea would also apply this system to its next-generation fighter jets so they could change directions and make evasive maneuvers as well as control the gravitational acceleration to reduce the pilot’s physical exhaustion.

Seoul Blue House Sang Choon-Jae Guesthouse.
A charismatic old man in traditional Korean garments with white hair walked in the reception room of the Blue House Sang Choon-Jae Guesthouse. The President, who was waiting in the room already, stood up immediately and bowed politely to greet him.
“Welcome, professor,”
“Haha, long time no see.”
“You don’t have to be so formal with me, sir. I should have treated you to a meal already, but I couldn’t until now from being so busy. I apologize.”
“I’m not some celebrity. Why do you care so much about an old man like me?”
“Don’t say that. Please, sir, take a seat.”
The man who called himself “just an old man” was President Suh Hyun-woo’s former college instructor, and the president of Korea’s Woori history research foundation Do-Un, Oh Yong-ook. He was famously known as teacher Do-Un by all of Korean.
From 2002, China’s Northeast Borderland History and the Chain of Events Research Project started with China’s Byeongang Temple site research center working jointly with three other facilities to research the history of North-East Asia and its current issues. When they incorporated the history of Goguryeo and Balhae from the old Manju area that was from Korea into the Han people’s history, the project denied Korea’s historical development and falsified its research. That’s when Do-Un became outraged and went to China’s Byeongang Temple site research center to refute their ever single false historical perceptions and corrected them based on old historical documents. Because of his efforts, Do-Un became a celebrity. Using this incident as an opportunity, Korea founded the Goguryeo research organization in March of 2004 to retaliate on a national level and to retaliate against Japan, which created conflict with incorrect historical textbooks from 2001. In September 2006, the North-East Asian Historical Society was founded with the Goguryeo research organization joining the fray. Now its name was changed to Woori history research foundation with Do-Un as its chairman and was fighting at the forefront of the historical war against the neighboring nations that habitually distorted history.
By the time the first cup of tea was cooling down, the President put down his teacup and spoke in earnest, “Sir, would you be kind and assist me in something?”
Do-Un Lee Yong-ook had a curious look on his face when the President suddenly asked for help in the middle of conversing about the old times.
“How could an old man like me help?”
“If you agree there is so much I need help with.”
“All right. Since it’s our president’s request how could I not?”
“Thank you, sir.”
The President placed the documents he prepared on the table and continued.
“First these are SS-class confidential documents. The moment you read these our bodyguarding agents will follow you round the clock 24 hours a day. Are you fine with this?”
“Oh my. I want to take back what I have just said.”
“This is for Korea’s future. Please help us, sir.”
Do-Un Oh Yong-ook was at a loss after hearing bodyguards following him 24 hours a day and SS-ranked confidential documents. It was unbearable. He loved his freedom. However, since his former student and the current President who placed the country in the top ranks of developed nations within three years (who had an 80% approval rating) earnestly requested his aid, he thought he had no choice.
“Well, I may live a slightly uncomfortable life in an age close to death, but let’s take a look.”
Do-Un Oh Yong-ook began thoroughly reading the documents. However, the calm look on his face changed into shock as timed passed, and after 10 minutes of him reviewing the documents and looking back to the President, he set down the papers on the table quietly.
“This is truly amazing. The reason our nation could grow at such a rapid rate in a short period was because of this then.”
The documents Do-Un Oh Yong-ook read through were about the alien spacecraft and the work the government did over the past two years.
“Yes, that is right, sir.”
“If that is so, then what is it that you ask of me?”
“I would like you to set a vision for our nation’s future.”
“A vision for the future for Korea.”
“Yes. Korea is amidst a gust of winds for change socially, economically, militarily, and other ways. I believe it was time to draw a larger picture for Korea’s future and that is why I asked to meet with you.”
“I think you overestimate me, Mr. President.”
“Of course not, sir. We are about to establish a National Vision Strategy Committee under the Blue House. Please become chairman of this organization and help paint a picture for Korea to walk into the future.”
The President bowed his head again politely, and Do-Un Oh Yong-ook thought for a moment and nodded his head as a gesture to accept the offer.
“I will use what is left of my life to aid our country.”
“Thank you. You have no idea how nervous I was about you refusing.”
“A Korean president should not get nervous about such a trivial manner, if the people knew, they will make fun of you for being timid.”
“Is that so? Hahaha.”
The President, who was smiling brightly, looked at the clock and pointed to the entrance with both hands politely and spoke to Do-Un Oh Yong-ook.
“This might be a bit early but shall we head out for lunch? I asked the chef at the Blue House to prepare something special since an important guest was coming. Shall we?”
“Yes. This will be the first time in my life I get to dine in the Blue House, thank you.”
