Shinjuku, Tokyo, Honshu, Japan
Boom! Woooosh~
A C-SH Zinog II missile fell towards Tokyo’s Shinjuku area and exploded after burrowing 50m below the surface. A magnitude 10 earthquake caused the surface of the earth to twist and shake within a 5km radius. Between the cracks, magma started to rise into the air and swallow up the nearby structures.
Since the high-rise buildings were designed to withstand up to magnitude 8 earthquake, they started to collapse like sandcastles, and the citizens inside also started to fall. The cars parked on the roads and parking lots all melted from the intense heat coming from the cracks. A single round of the C-SH Zinog-II missile matched the explosive power of a 1Mt nuclear bomb.
The area 5km within the blast site had turned into a living hell. The high-temp fire seemed as if it could rage on for another decade and started to cause the remaining buildings to collapse as well.
As the flames continued to burn at the heart of Tokyo, two CB-30P Blue Dragon bombers that had taken off from the Sungnam air force base entered Tokyo’s atmosphere 20km above the surface. They opened their internal hatch and started to drop 40 rounds of C-PAB plasma cluster rounds. The C-PAB plasma cluster rounds were designed to free fall and all 40 of them started to fall towards their targets set by the Blue Dragon bombers by adjusting their trajectory with their thrusters.
Boom! Booooom! Bang!
These were not as powerful as the Zinog-II missiles, but explosions that matched a 20kt nuclear bomb occurred across Tokyo. The bombs had precisely targeted the Japanese military that had been stationed in downtown Tokyo to defend the city.
The remaining six Blue Dragon bombers flew towards the major cities of Nagoya, Osaka, and Hiroshima in groups of two to commence the bombing.
The city of Hokkaido that Deputy Prime Minister Aso Taro was planning to use as a base to start his retaliation was annihilated by the Hyunmu-PIP missiles launched from Corea. The major city of Sapporo, the northern air force’s 2nd fighter wing’s Chitose base, and the 3rd fighter wing’s Misawa base were also wiped off the map. Japan’s anti-air net and radar systems including the early warning planes were all gone, so they had no means to stop the attacks. 120 rounds of the Hyunmu-PIP missiles fell upon Hokkaido and this was enough to wipe out the area.
The Corean military’s retaliation against the Japanese military’s use of tactical nukes started with Tokyo and continued at 20 other major cities in Honshu. A disaster was sweeping across the nation.

The Yokota underground bunker at Chiba Prefecture, Honshu, Japan
Joint Commander Masaki Hajime had thought the tactical nuclear strikes from the day before bought him some time. When his aide-de-camp woke him up, he rubbed his eyes and asked, “What is it, Aide-de-camp Nakamoto?”
“Commander! It’s an emergency. You must take a look at this.”
“What is it? Why are you in such a fuss?”
“The thing is… The Corean military made nuclear weapon strike across the entire nation except for Kyushu 10 minutes ago, sir.”
“Nuclear weapons? Corea owns nuclear missiles?”
Joint Commander Masaki Hajime then realized the severity of the situation and ran to the command center with just his coat on.
The command center was in an uproar from the numerous reports coming in from everywhere. Most of the reports mentioned they were hit by a weapon that rivaled a nuclear bomb, and the forces gathered to retaliate had been annihilated. The 1st armored division, 2nd vehicle infantry division, 9th light armored division, 11th vehicle division, 5th mechanized infantry brigade, and 10 newly drafted infantry divisions had all been annihilated.
Joint Commander Masaki Hajime, who thought he could use the tactical nuclear strikes to organize his forces and retaliate against the Corean military, collapsed on the floor.
“Wiped out! What does that mean? Are you certain?”
“Yes, sir. We are attempting to contact every subordinate force, but the EMP pulses from the explosions or damages are causing communication issues. We cannot contact any of them.”
If these reports turned out to be true, then there was no more hope left for the Japanese military. Over 160,000 soldiers had been lost and they were the last remaining forces within the Japanese military.
“They cannot have been taken out so easily. Keep contacting every force until you reach them.”
“Yes, commander.”
“Have we sent in reconnaissance drones to the targeted areas?”
“Yes, commander! We have sent out drones to the regions that were attacked first across Tokyo, including Shinjuku.”
Soon, footage from the drone at Shinjuku, Tokyo came up on the screen at the command center. The powerful EMP pulses from the explosion caused the screen to become staticky and crack up at times.
“My god… could that really be what’s left of Shinjuku?”
The scene 500m above Shinjuku had turned into chaos from the tectonic plate movements. Only black and red flames from the lava spouting out of the cracks lit up the area. Shinjuku had been Japan’s largest cultural hub for business, shopping, and entertainment, and was once considered the heart of Tokyo. Shinjuku station boasted the most traffic with its numerous intersections for buses, rails, and subways, and it had the train station with the greatest number of passengers in the world. It was also the location of the Tokyo City Hall and had the most foreign population within the 23 counties of Tokyo, but that was in the past now. Everything that was in the area had been wiped clean off the surface.
The joint commander, the army’s chief of staff, and the other military commanders could not believe what they were seeing. The scene was more brutal and horrible compared to nuclear blasts.
“The footage from Tsuginami is on screen 2.”
Everyone’s gaze darted towards screen 2 at the operator’s report. Tsuginami county was the area the 1st armored division was tasked with defending. There were no sound buildings in the area except for debris and burning flames. There was lava overflowing between the cracks of the earth, just like Shinjuku. Every other footage from the reconnaissance drones were similar. The city with 30 million people living in it was now no more.
“What-what kind of weapons did the Coreans use on our territory?”
Joint Commander Masaki Hajime got back on his feet with the aid of his subordinates and felt a rush of regret for commencing the Kamikaze attacks with the tactical nukes. It was as if history was repeating itself from World War II when Japan had raided Pearl Harbor and faced brutal retaliation from America.
“Commander! Shouldn’t we evacuate from the area, sir?” The army’s chief of staff, Takitayo Ochiro seemed to be full of fear from the footage of the screen and quietly spoke to the joint commander.
“Leave the bunker?”
“Yes, sir. Wouldn’t the Corean military attack underground bunkers as well, sir?”
“This is a bunker made by the Americans! It is designed to withstand most nuclear missiles. There is no other place in our nation safer than here!”
“Even if that is the case, wouldn’t it be useless to stay here after our entire military has been wiped out, sir?”
“Don’t jump to conclusions. It could just be communication errors preventing us from reaching them, couldn’t it?”
“Didn’t you see what happened with the reconnaissance drones? Commander!”
“Chief of Staff Kakitayo! We will fight until our dying breath here. No one is leaving this bunker. Do not lower the morale of other commanders and be quiet!” Joint Commander Masaki Hajime was adamant.
While the commanders within the underground bunker were arguing, two rounds of the Zinog-II missiles launched by the Zeus 2 satellite was falling at frightening speeds towards the new Yokota bunker.

Seoul, Yongsan-ku, B2 bunker (ROK military joint command center)
Corea’s joint chief of staff was observing the progress of the attacks on Honshu, Shikoku, and Hokkaido in real-time.
Over 300 rounds of plasma cluster rounds that were more powerful than nuclear bombs were used for this mission to wipe out Japan. The Corean military had exhausted all of its plasma rounds at Japan. The retaliation against the Japanese military’s use of nuclear weapons had erased every object on the surface of Japan, excluding Kyushu.
“When will the attack on the Yokota bunker begin, Lieutenant General Kim?” Chairman Kang Ui-sik asked.
Lieutenant General Kim Yong-hyun, who was standing next to him, answered immediately, “Two rounds of the Zinog-II missiles will fall on the new Yokota bunker in five minutes, sir.”
“Yes! This will put an end to the war against Japan for good!”
A few moments later, two rounds of Zinog-II missiles started to fall on the new Yokota bunker 100m below the surface. The bunker started to shake from the explosion. The first Zinog missile dove 50m into the earth before exploding. The next missile that followed the first exploded after reaching 100m into the surface. The explosion tore through the outer and inner steel plating of the bunker as if they were pieces of paper. The high-temperature heatwaves started to seep in through the cracks of the bunker’s plating.
When the earth started to shift, the bunker was unable to withstand the pressure and collapsed. The heat coming from the cracks of the earth started to vaporize everything within it.
When the earthquake from the explosions hit the underground bunker, Joint Commander Masaki Hajime, the army’s Chief of Staff Takitayo Ochiro, and many other military commanders and operators were crushed by the collapsed ceiling. The heat coming from the cracks caused their bodies to burn into ash.
“Both Zinog-II missiles have landed on the new Yokota bunker! The explosions confirm the underground bunker is indeed collapsing. I think we got them, sir!”
The operator who received the report from the Apollo 1 satellite relayed the message to the commanders watching the screen in the room.

The depths 154km east of Miyagi prefecture, Honshu, Japan (N 37°49’4.06″ E 142°39’46.77″)
The Oyashio-class Kuroshio (SS-596) submarine that had docked at Kamogawa Port to escort Deputy Prime Minister Aso Taro and his entourage the day before was silently sailing towards Hokkaido’s 3rd fighter wing Misawa base at 30 knots. When they were 154km east from Miyagi Prefecture, a large wave from an earthquake started to shake the submarine.
Wooooooosh~ Boooom! Booom!
When the 4,200t submarine started to rock back and forth from the waves, Deputy Prime Minister Aso Taro, who had never boarded a submarine before, started to shout in a panicked tone. “Argh! What the-! What is that? What’s going on? Are we hit?”
Deputy Prime Minister Aso Taro grasped his face out of fear and started to shake after curling up on the submarine’s floor. Commander Murakawa of the navy helped the minister back on his feet while calming him down.
“Sir! There’s no need to worry. They’re just waves caused by earthquakes under the surface. It happens from time to time in the depths here.”
The Japanese submarine had mistaken the waves as one coming from undersea earthquakes that happened frequently in the area. There was no way the Kuroshio (SS-596) would know that the entire Japanese territory except Kyushu was up in flames as they had been underseas and sailing silently without any radio communication for 10 hours.
