100,000/Hour Professional Stand-in - Chapter 100.1
Chapter 100.1: Emotional Damage Compensation (1)
With everything now in place, it was time to draw things to a close. Despite orchestrating the conflicts, Ji Fanyin had decided to skip watching the first scene this time round.
However, this did not deter her from monitoring the situation from the sidelines.
On the day after her meeting with Li Xiaoxing, Ji Fanyin had sounded out the news of Cen Xiangyang’s filming team taking the day off from one the informed staff in her studio.
Should things continue to go according to her plans, she would be able to hit her target of 10 billion points within the next two days.
As she checked on her progress in the app for the umpteenth time in the last 10 minutes, a female staff in the office could no longer contain her curiosity and asked, “Boss, are you in a relationship now? Is that why you’re constantly checking your phone?”
It had happened during their tea break when half of the office was slacking off and snacking on tidbits.
Everyone in the vicinity looked over, regardless of what they were doing, including a staff member who had been on his way to the toilet.
Ji Fanyin had been deep in thoughts, trying to deduce the movement on the other side based on the influx of points in the app. Therefore, when the question was first posed to her, she was slow to react. When she finally came around and noticed the stares, she laughed and reassured the female staff member, as well as the other staff in the vicinity, “No, I’m not in a relationship. I’m just monitoring something very important.”
“That’s great.” The female staff let out a sigh of relief and patted her chest to show it. She continued, “Boss belongs to all of us! If you had a boyfriend, we wouldn’t have free snacks like this everyday!”
Ji Fanyin twirled her handphone in her hand and laughed.
She loved the atmosphere in this studio. It resembled the studio she’d owned in her previous life.
Soon, the tea break was over. As everyone dusted off the remnants of the tidbits on their hands and went back to work, Ji Fanyin, too, made her way back toward her office.
Mid-way, her phone vibrated.
True to her title as the Number One gossip queen, Zhang Ning had sent her a text to update her on the latest development to the drama: 【Ji Xinxin had gone missing, the Li Family is currently checking the hospital’s CCTV.】
Ji Fanyin’s eyebrows shot up.
However, the drama happening on that side had nothing to do with her other than concretising the possibility of that day being her last day working in the studio and that these were her last few hours there.
In those few hours, Ji Fanyin concentrated on clearing the final two documents pending her attention. By slightly past 6PM, she had shut her laptop and was ready to leave the office.
“Are you going home?” Shen Qi was passing by her office and decided to check in on her.
“Yes.” Ji Fanyin walked out of her office with light footsteps. Suddenly a wild idea appeared in her head. She said, “Tell me another one of your cold jokes.”
Shen Qi looked down at his watch.
Ji Fanyin waited patiently.
After approximately ten seconds, Shen Qi said, “It is now 6 June (6/6), 6.06PM and 6 seconds. It is a very auspicious moment.”
Ji Fanyin blinked her eyes blankly before a chuckle finally made its way out of her, “You’ve tried your best.”
Shen Qi readjusted his spectacles and said, “Truly.”
“I’m off. Bye bye.” Ji Fanyin patted his shoulders.
“Have a safe trip,” Shen Qi replied.
Ji Fanyin took a few steps forward before noticing something was amiss. Her brows furrowed together and she turned back to look at Shen Qi.
However, he was already gone. It was as though ‘have a safe trip’ were regular farewell words.
